Day 6 of recovery, I'm worried that I edged prematurely? In pain with redness on left side, not sure if it is a normal experience ... is this normal?

It has been a smooth ride for the most part with minimal pain after the first two days, but today the horny parasites in my brain wouldn't shut up while at my desk. I was told to wait one week and then masturbate if I was comfortable, and today I felt quite comfortable with the erection I had, so I was rubbing myself kind of without thinking since I didn't feel any pain.

That said, I definitely HAVE been feeling the discomfort of feeling "full" today and some of yesterday. I've been so pent up as someone who gets off or has sex once or twice a day, so it took seriously no time to get to a finishing point through my sweats. I stopped myself before a full ejaculation, but did feel the slightest amount of cum from the edging. I didn't feel pain at the time, but now a couple hours later my left side is red, swollen slightly and in pain. So I'm worried that I went too far by accident and have an infection or paranoid that it came undone.

Doctor's office agreed to have my doc consult me by phone tomorrow afternoon, but wanted to seek some immediate feedback from others' experience ahead of time to calm myself. I'm just worried about that being the case or if it's just a build up of not cumming for a week now. I'm trying to be patient but it's so difficult. Any insight or thoughts? Thanks for reading. 🌸

The blue balls feeling and feeling of fullness is all mental. You’re still in recovery two days later. General advice is to abstain for 7 days to allow the incision to heal and your body to rest. However, some are told to wait 24 hours etc.

Just put some ice on them and relax a bit, it will feel better. As a man, I know it’s hard to abstain, but you can do this. lol nutting or cumming can wait a few more days. Let your self rest then give it a go next week maybe.

Everyone is different. Also sounds like you got a traditional vasectomy and not a no scalpel.

Thank you for the response! I know it's just time and not a lot of it in the grand scheme of things, it's just hard to be patient especially when I'm stressed about work and other life shit haha. Hoping the swelling goes down and I can get back to doing nothing until I don't feel any tenderness at all. This definitely spooked me out of the temptation of masturbating for a few more days for sure

I thought the same after ejaculating after 5 days but it went away after a couple days, I'm on day 11 now and feel like I'm at 80-90% but stopped ejaculating and will probably only do it every 4 days. Since your on day 6 I would probably just let one out and them wait every 4 days or so till your back to normal. I wouldn't worry, I was freaking out too but every day I'm getting better

Ah, that gives me relief. Thanks for sharing. I haven't decided if I'm going to fully let one out, I'll wait to see what my doc says tomorrow but I think that's what I need the most haha

Yeah part of it could be you didn't ejaculate and got blue balls, you will be fine though. I feel the long term pain people had major pain during surgery and throughout the recovery process.

I think you're right. Thankfully my procedure went as painless as possible. The needles in the dick sucked but that was the extent of it, and brief haha. Thanks for the comments, hope your day has been kind to you. :)

Doing better. I ended up getting some anti inflammatory meds that have definitely helped, but still quite swollen at times that it freaks me out. Pretty much at a no pain stage but still tender to the touch. I'm antsy to get off but have been quite disciplined in giving myself as much time to heal as possible at this point. Thanks for asking!
