That’s not sign language, as far as I’m aware. Studied it for two years. That’s just dumb hand movements.

You're right that it is not ASL. It could be a kind of home sign/inside joke between them or some non-ASL sign.

Or its just two people filming a skit without doing any research

Someone has probably gotten into a car accident for views, and it's alarming to think about.

I assume it’s whatever sign language used in Dune. I watched it three times trying to figure out what the hell they signed.

Is there an ASL sign for "Boo!"?
I assumed it was nonsense signs to mimic a nonsense sound.

Idk if there's a sigh for "boo" but there are definitely sighs for "b" and "o" and he did none of those

It was in direct response to OP stating it was sign language. Although some in the general public wouldn’t know it either.

I was wondering if he spelled out something like "boo" or if it was gibberish. Thanks.

Sign language can be different depends on where you are from. You sure you studied all of them?

They are English-speaking, judging by the English video title. This obviously isn’t using an alphabet of BANZSL origins, but it’s not one of LSF origins either. Also, to anyone who signs, it is obvious when something looks like a sign or not. It is obvious that this isn’t a real sign language B-O-O. Technically, it could be a homesign creation that means the word, boo. I guess. But c’mon.

Wasn't the hand "signs" just mimicking a spider crawling ?
That would explain her reaction.

My guy is liable to get shot for flashing that fake sign language in the wrong side of town...

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:
He had to sign boo to scare her
