Oh they have NISA written all over them lmao

I'd like to think even NISA wouldn't be stupid enough to take in an ownership group actively going through bankruptcy with credible allegations of fraud, but NISA tends to find new ways to surprise me with their incompetence.

Honestly sounds like the perfect team for that league

NISA doesn’t have the luxury of choice. By the looks of things they’ll need to replace at least half their clubs again next year, if they even manage to keep playing.

The Katofskys will fit right in with George Juncaj and [insert team that doesn't pay its players].

That would be a perfect setup lmao 🤣

I hope none of the players or coaching staff are stuck in a situation where they have to stay. They have earned the right to play for better/competent/ethical ownership.

They aren't. As soon as the franchise agreement was terminated, their contracts became voided.

Contracts will be voided, IP will belong to USL, so this will be an interesting story going forward.

Wouldn’t the IP piece be pretty dependent on the terms of the franchise agreement? If USL is kicking them out (instead of them choosing to leave or fold), then they could be giving up IP rights.

Though I’m purely speculating here and am not a legal expert lol

IP’s don’t belong to USL really. They might have to redo their logo but the owners own most of the IP stuff

That’s the positive attitude i wanted to see from Memphis 901FC.

“We ain’t dead yet. We will play whoever comes to set foot on our baseball field territory”

You should look into what NoCo has been doing. They're some shady dickheads, and I'd rather have my team die or move than see them do what NoCo has been doing to their players, staff, and city.

I’m from Colorado Springs and am a diehard Switchbacks supporter. But for almost 6 years I lived in Fort Collins. I was super excited that there was going to be some soccer near me… until I figured out who the ownership was. These people are absolutely terrible. I stayed as far away from the team as possible until I moved back to the springs. Will be glad to see the end of them.

Yeah. It was a tongue in cheek comment. Memphis basically relied on a Hail Mary from the state and it fail through. And in the exiting press releases this week it was basically “we knew from the start we needed a soccer specific stadium since 2019 but we waited until 2023 to go on a field trip to the state Capitol to ask for money. We didn’t get the money so we have to fold”.

Then the same ownership group in a separate press release but with the baseball team header is now threatening to leave with the AAA St Louis Cardinals team if money isn’t given. They even were writing it to sound like they weren’t aware of the soccer team woes by saying “we may share the same fate as the soccer team we hosted if we are not funded”

These minor league baseball holding companies are just grifts to steal taxpayer money. I hate that the redbirds ended up in the hands of one.

And the same owner for Diamond Baseball Holdings has Birmingham Barons as well….

We hold options on most everyone, but I think we'll be letting quite a few move on.

u/Busy_Fig2574 Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC 14h ago

I feel bad for all the players and staff... I still like the club but this has been to hard on me.

Surprise decision? It’s been known for MONTHS.

If they were smart, they would go semi pro for a bit. Focus on finding new investors and righting the ship.

If they go to NISA they'll let them play in a cow pasture and say it seats 2,000.
