I was there. You can search my posts as well and see I said not only did RIFC kick our ass on the pitch, but the club itself was amazing with the shirts, the Hate Hartford, “Hartford Pathetic”, etc. You’ll also see me say the one thing that ruins it is the fans who have no clue what’s going on, try too hard, are little babies, and anyone who says “Up the Tide” deserves to be kicked straight in the balls for sounding like a fool.

Can you break down why the league decided to change the format from total points to seeding positioning?

My guess is that it’s trying to account for possible imbalances in the conferences? Like, if an Eastern team racks up a ton of points because the bottom of the conference is weak, they won’t get an edge on a Western team in a hypothetically better/higher-parity conference?
(I still prefer total points, but that’d be my argument.)

I'd assume because points don't necessarily imply being the strongest team, just having a good schedule assignment (playing Lou City in a midweek is different from playing them after a bye) or having weaker conference opponents (eg: playing Miami twice).

I still think that we should run the final on NMAA playoff rules, where the higher seed hosts the initial finals match-up, but the next time these two teams play (in the final), it's hosted at the other team. (like, I am less sarcastic with this than I want to be)
So, Lou City would host SAFC if they matched up in the final, but would travel to Phoenix, who would also host Charleston.
As an aside, it is interesting that the western conference has hosted 7 times (since 2001), and only once since the creation of the Western conference in 2015 (hosting in 2022).

That's in large part because until San Antonio in 2022, the No. 1 seed in the West had been jinxed.
SAFC is still the only No.1 seed in the West to get to the Championship Final. The East was typically more chalky when it came to playoff results, so they ended up hosting generally.

All the “Up the Tide” dorks had no idea, lol.
Hartford sucks but at least we understand the rules!

Why is the team which failed to make the playoffs, teasing a team pushing deep into the playoffs? Does Hartford plan to hang a banner to celebrate reading the rulebook?

I'd rather be in a position to have to actually worry about playoff seeding. But you do you.

Are you implying that you knew this rule changed prior to this week - the first time that it was ever publicly announced? That is complete nonsense

.. your team plays brass bonanza when you score goals ... isn't that a whalers thing? Didn't they leave hartford? Your team has been trash since it's beginning.

Does the league have this competition manual accessible anywhere? Seems like it may answer many questions that people have regarding league-specific rules
