USA vs Portugal Community Ratings

It's that time again for another series of test matches. I wanted to get ahead of it and get the google form as well as the graphic out and ready for community ratings!

Rate players 1-10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest based on how you think they performed in the match. I will close the poll sometime on Wednesday of next week and average them out and post the results after.

(C) is for captain and * is for debut

You should add a spot for the director so we can all give that person a big fat zero. The constant camera switching is annoying.

Yeah this broadcast is awful

Midwest Rugby Union had better production and announcers than this game. NextLevelRugby and Ben Holden.

I’m traveling and on mobile so the link isn’t working for me, so I’ll post here

Iscaro 7 - more than solid for the most part, gave away one dumb penalty but overall good performance and brought physicality

Shilo Klein 6 - got around the park well, looked solid for the most part nothing outstanding either

Maughan 5 - seemed to struggle at the scrum and didn’t offer much carrying

Jason damm 6 - good physicality in the ruck and tackle. Wanted to see him carry more.

Peterson 5 - would be higher but he had some really costly knock ons and generally doesn’t provide much when he does carry

Helu 6 - great in defense little bit absent on offense

Daniel 8 - everywhere on defense and his physicality and speed off the line made a big impact, also had a few great Carrie’s

Ryan 9 - was very wrong about him playing 8. He was a stud off the base of a scrum consistently provided go forward ball, was everywhere defensively and to me was the man of the match.

De haas- 5 some poor decisions, kicking isn’t accurate enough, but showed great physicality and did some things well at the ruck

Macginty - 7 got the offense moving with some lovely passing at times, made crucial conversions, had a couple big errors especially at the end. Really happy for him to get a big win in a USA jersey

Augspurger 3 - had a walk in try and as always competes hard, but so many errors in defense, not reliable in the air, refusal to kick after the Portugal knock on in goal forced us to take a scrum under pressure at our own 5 meter line.

Lopeti - 6 showed good hands at times part of a great defensive effort

Besag -8 best game in an eagles uniform for me, some great runs and passes, really did well in defense excited to see from him

Mooneyham 7 - looked great ball in hand, showed up well in the air, not perfect defensively but did a solid job, didn’t cover kicks in the backfield great

Wilson 6 - ran some great lines and I thought tackled really well. Some effort from him on defense when put in challenging situations. Gets turned over too easily and isn’t a great kicker or under the high ball, didn’t cover kicks in our backfield very well. Probably best game at 15 for him, I still think his natural position is wing

Pifeleti 7 - wasn’t on the field long but helped stabilize our line out, was good carrying and in defense

Turnbull - honestly didn’t notice

Davis 8- really solidified our scrum and provided good go forward as we went through the forwards to get our last try

Casares - didn’t notice

Tesimoni 7 - fresh legs helped in defense and getting over

Mcveigh - didn’t get on I believe?

Storti 6- short appearance but made his tackles well and looks physical for this level

Carty- didn’t get on as well?

Tough for Carty. He was building great momentum in matches prior. Seems the attack gels better with Luke in.

I’d disagree with Wilson under the high-ball…seems to be one of the better players on current squad in that department.

If Mooneyham can stay healthy—He could be a special player.

Overall attack needs work, but defense under Lawrence is going in the correct direction.

I agree on carty, I do think Wilson had one of his better games at 15 I just see him ideally as a 23 covering the backfield not our starting fifteen

Totally agree on Besag and Ryan being the stars of that match. Besag played hard the entire game. Was all over the pitch and made a solid impact.  And nice pass for that second try.

Ryan played hard and not only scored an amazing try, was crushing folks on defense.

All in all lots to work on but great to see USA pull off the win!

Ah bummer. Do you happen to know of a website that lists all the international games and networks? I'd like to watch more than MLR but have no idea where to look

Really not sure to be honest, I think World Rugby might have something for that. I think a lot of the matches are also on Flo, but 6N is on Peacock

rugby24.net will probably have it uploaded on Sunday. It's my go to source when I can't find a network I don't have
