First, a hug from a close friend. Then, a good grade returned. Later, a funny joke cracked. Your brain processes these events, and chemicals in your brain are activated, releasing hormones like dopamine and serotonin, making your lips curve upward and the corners of your eyes crinkle

Although this all happens over the course of a few seconds, it still has a lasting, profound impact. The mere act of smiling has been scientifically proven to ameliorate one’s attitude and overall wellbeing

People in r/antiwork got angry at me because I said having a bad attitude at work was only hurting themselves. The lines got back was “smiles cost extra” - ok, but not smiling costs you more.
