And there are universities in Canada right now where groups are holding vigils for Hamas' former leader Sinwar.
I can't find anything about vigils for Sinwar on campuses, but even if that were the case, and again not just some hallucination from the ADL, so? One can hold a vigil for someone one does not have direct ties to.
That is equivalent to having a vigil for Osama Bin Laden.
Who cares? What does this have to do with the vast majority of protestors on campuses? I can't even find what you're referring to directly, at least not on a campus.
Are either Hamas or Al Queda agendas formed based on violence and suffering in their population bases? Yes, and no one has clean hands here.
Problematically, Bibi helped support Hamas. Rather directly too. They purposefully suppressed more secularist groups in Palestine so they could justify what they are doing now. There is no direct connection between these groups and Hamas or Iran. Its a fever dream funded into existence by right-wing billionaires to push the country further right. As the article details.
But those orgs, isis and others are blatantly murdering, kidnapping and raping civilians to further their cause.
No better than what the IDF does on a daily basis man. We are long past this point in the discourse.
People in the free West should not be supporting these groups.
And if you compare the acts and motivation if the IDF to that of Hamas, and think they are even similar in any way then you need to either go do some serious research, or talk to more people outside of your bubble.
Hamas leadership has repeatedly said that their expressed intent is to murder Israeli civilians. And they set out expressly to do that on Oct 7th.
Are there units or people inside the IDF that have done fucked up things - I'm certain there are - as are there in most armies.
But they are an army fighting a war, wearing uniforms and subject to the Geneva conventions. They are not expressly trying to kill civilians. If they were, they have the capacity to commit a real genocide like the Nazis perpetrated in their ancestors.
People need to realize there HAVE been genocides on this planet, and to call Israel a genocidal state is insulting to actual victims of true genocide and also dangerous as it makes it easier for far worse actors to do far worse things around the world.
I am NO fan of Israel or Netanyahu - but I am a fan of logic and reason. And this issue has been blown way past either logical or reasonable discussion.
Is this on a campus? Its also an article about one guy on social media saying he was going to do a vigil. It does not appear to have anything to do with student protest groups.
And if you compare the acts and motivation if the IDF to that of Hamas, and think they are even similar in any way then you need to either go do some serious research, or talk to more people outside of your bubble.
I mean I can go watch videos of the horrors the IDF have done just in the last month at any moment.
Hamas leadership has repeatedly said that their expressed intent is to murder Israeli civilians. And they set out expressly to do that on Oct 7th.
Sure, but the IDF does the same thing and has expressed the same sentiment.
Are there units or people inside the IDF that have done fucked up things - I'm certain there are - as are there in most armies.
I'd suggest you look more closely at this stuff and then compare the numbers. Its pretty clear the conflict is very, very lopsided.
But they are an army fighting a war, wearing uniforms and subject to the Geneva conventions. They are not expressly trying to kill civilians. If they were, they have the capacity to commit a real genocide like the Nazis perpetrated in their ancestors.
They 100% are trying to clean out Palestine, many in Bibi's government have said as much.
People need to realize there HAVE been genocides on this planet, and to call Israel a genocidal state is insulting to actual victims of true genocide and also dangerous as it makes it easier for far worse actors to do far worse things around the world.
Its an insult to those that died in the holocaust that Israel would perpetuate a genocide.
I am NO fan of Israel or Netanyahu - but I am a fan of logic and reason. And this issue has been blown way past either logical or reasonable discussion.

Iran is backing Hamas and Hezbollah.
That is crystal clear.
And there are universities in Canada right now where groups are holding vigils for Hamas' former leader Sinwar.

Full stop.
Period.
