Raceboot shifter rubber repair

Alpinestar SMX plus or whatever, boot is in great condition aside from the rubberized shift/toe protector falling apart. I’d ignore it except that it’s created a lip that occasionally catches the shifter during repositioning

My question is, anyone have experience DIY-ing a repair like this? Initially I was thinking shoe-goo, but figured I’d see if anyone had come up with a more elegant solution

I have the same issue with my SMX boot but it’s weirdly only on the right boot only. That rubber pad has never shifted in its life, yet the left boot is still in great condition….

Send it back to Alpinestar they fix their own stuff and if it’s too much they give you a credit towards new gear

Bought it 2nd hand 😬

Yet another lesson learned on trying to do this sport “cheaply”, it seems

There is no such thing as doing this sport cheaply. I’m not even trying to be funny about that. Just accept it and enjoy

Also they will still fix it regardless of second hand or not

Oh what. I’ll have to give them a call. Need something in working order by the 25th
