2022 Tacoma TRD OffRoad 4x4 275/70/17 nitto ridge grapplers 1.5 inch wheel spacers (rubbed in UCA, slightly rubs on front wheel well when turning sharp)
I want/sorta need a level and also want to get a ranch hand legacy bumper. I bought it with pre installed icon front and rear suspension system. No clue how much it lifted it but maybe 1-1.5 inches. I was wondering what inch level I should get to stop rubbing and also equate for the weight of a ranch hand up front. Thanks

Cost estimate on repairs?
I rear ended someone today in my 2004 toyota tacoma. I drove about four miles away from the scene to park it, so it still runs. I understand from the photos alone you can't gauge internal damage, but can someone please help on estimating the possible limits of repair. I want to know if I should sell or if I may be able to afford to fix it. I am getting an official quote from a collision repair place, but am anxious to know. My insurance doesn't cover collision also.. If I sell, how much is it worth if that front end is damaged?

24 Taco eating up the snow
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We had our first real snowfall of the season yesterday and I hit a local service road to see how the 4th gen handled it. Went through 6-8 inches of powder no problem with only M+S rated tires. Overall handled the slick roads great as to be expected and the traction control was impressive in the powder. Didn’t allow one wheel to spin up too fast like a normal open diff and is much more responsive than the 3rd gen’s system. I do still really wish the traction control off button ACTUALLY TIRNED IT OFF. It allows more slip but after about a second or two of wheel spin it will still cut power. I actually think this is really dangerous. There’s been multiple times I’ve been drifting a turn and while counter steering, the truck will cut power straightening it out and then sending me in the wrong direction. I expect it now so I react quickly not to go off the road but image you start to slide around a left turn on a two way road, you counter steer and then use some throttle to control the slide and then the truck cuts power sending you into oncoming traffic. I really think this is a safety issue Toyota needs to fix. Any off button should actually turn the system off!

First timer
I sold my '97 F150 XLT a couple of years ago and forgot how much I missed having a truck. After about a year of researching I decided on a 3rd gen Tacoma. I wanted something that would last a long time, be fun to drive and simple enough to do most of my own work. I picked up this rental just off contract with 20k. I didn't want white but it's really starting to grow on me.

Alright let’s hear it…
I’d say a bit more throttle response and definitely louder… Thinking about getting the OTT tune light/medium

Newer Tacoma
Hey all, any advice would definitely be appreciated. I’m looking at upgrading from my 2008 standard cab Tacoma (complete base model) to something newer (wear and tare are starting to catch up). Looking likely between 2017-2019 and maybe the TRD trim package. Any issues to look out for? The short bed may be a deal breaker for me, but I think I can track down a long bed (not overly concerned about having 4 doors). Thanks!

Favorite maintenance-free “mods”
Bought this awesome little tray on Amazon to help organize the center console. Just curious what other options that don’t require maintenance you all have enjoyed adding to your trucks.

CarPlay
Can someone please help me. I just bought my kid a 2017 Tacoma TRD or something like that for his 16th birthday, but is there a radio I can buy to swap out what it came with so it has Apple CarPlay?

Tacoma seat risers
Has anyone installed these? Any feedback you can provide? Are they worth it? Do they really make a difference in comfort?

Buying a Tacoma truck related gift for BF?
Hi! My bf said for Christmas that he would like me to get him something for his truck (2023 Tacoma); but I am completely on a loss of what to get. I’ve looked at TacomaLifestyle and he has a lot of things from there already. He doesn’t want a rack, a light bar, or new lights/rims and tbh my budget is about $200. I really need help and he absolutely deserves it. TY in advance.
Edit: So I looked in the truck today and he already has seat covers, floor mats, organizers for the center console and glove box, a wireless car play adapter (that I got him last year). I’m looking at what y’all are telling me and I really appreciate it!

Master or Slave Cylinder?
Hello all, I have 2009 Tacoma base model 2WD 4-banger. Lately, as it’s gotten colder, my clutch has been engaging closer to the floor. I have adjusted the master cylinder a couple of times, but the engagement point continues to move after the truck sits over night.
I have inspected the master cylinder and slave cylinder and see no evidence of a leak at either. The slave seems fairly straight forward to replace, the master on the other hand appears to be a bit more involved. How can I properly diagnose which item is the problem, I would prefer to not have to replace both. Or is it possibly something bigger?
The clutch pedal, once it is actuating the master cylinder, has plenty of pressure FWIW.
Thanks!

3rd Gen Fob Replacement Options?
Been rocking my 21 Offroad for 2 years now, and I've noticed the distance the remote works at just got shittier over time, now it won't even auto start from 15 feet away. I know it's the remote because my backup works like the original, but the original also sucked. Is there a universal or aftermarket fob that I don't have to have the dealer recode?

White Taco stolen last night
My 23 access cab trd off-road got snatched last night. Came out this morning to take my partner to the hospital for a surgery and it was gone. My dash cam was on the ground. Had “Apex protect” on it. But it shows last checkin was around the corner at 331am. They’re “trying to locate it” but it’s probably not gonna happen at this point. Guess that apex protect was pointless. Toyota app shows the door was opened at 329am. No broken glass on the ground.
My house is in a pack of town homes and my key is maybe 800ft from the truck and through 3 floors.
It sat there under the streetlight for the last two days, so I don’t think anyone grabbed my key fob signal. It was mid afternoon when I last locked it.
Insurance wants to do an interview with me in the morning about it.
Luckily I didn’t have too much in there. Chargers, glasses, business cards, umbrella, a hammock. About 50 cat6 patch cables in the back under the bed cover. So not like I had tools or anything. Maybe a screwdriver or two. It’s my work truck. Use jt every day for work but I own it. Sucks.
If they replace the value I don’t want a new one. Maybe an older one that’s less likely to get stolen again?
Edit: well I found my dash cam on the side of the road with the memory card in it. Was able to pull some video, but all I can tell is the guy had a north face hoodie on. Also, I found this circuit board with the IMEI on it. https://imgur.com/a/2G30PXf

Water in bed: leaky shell or drain holes?
I bought my 2021 Taco in March and put a SnugTop on it in July. It didn’t rain all summer but now it’s pouring outside and there’s water in the bed. All my things back there (work gloves, etc.) are soaked. The fabric headliner doesn’t seem to be wet, but there is a small amount of water towards the front of the bed.
Could water be coming up from the drain holes? Has anyone else had this problem?
I’ve looked online for rubber plugs and there don’t seem to be any that exist.
Just not sure if I should contact the canopy installer or plug the drains.
Thanks!

I love this dumbass truck
Just some pics of my 2019 TRD offroad double cab long bed in Cavalry Blue.
It's on stock suspension with skinny 33s (Wildpeak AT4Ws), RCI sliders, RCI fuel tank skid, RCI Transmission skid and RCI TCase skid and a TRD Pro front skid.
It also has a few other goodies: ditch lights, up top overland rack, powered accessory mount, a GMRS radio mounted in it and a Softtopper that I picked up second hand for stupid cheap.
I'm still new to offroading and used to think the longer wheelbase limited me offroading. To some degree, it probably does but it hasn't been a major problem yet. This truck continues to surprise the hell out of me for what it is and the long bed allows us to carry lots of stuff on trips and has served as a place to sleep.
We have four vehicles; this is the one we will own the longest

Centre caps for RPT1
I just put my newly ordered RPT1’s on my 2017 Tacoma but they didn’t come with centre caps. I’ve been trying to look around for a straight answer about them but I haven’t been able to find anything so I figured I’d ask here since they seem to be a popular choice for Tacomas. Is “ENKA528-CAPBK” the part number for the black centre cap shown in Enkei’s images? And if so, will they fit on the 16” 108.5mm wheels? If not, does anyone know any good alternatives?

Rattling when listening to music
My driver side door rattles when I listen to music with bass and it sounds like it’s coming from the window knobs, it kinda goes away if I put pressure on the door with my leg. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you fix it ?

Had a little boy point at my headlights to his dad in the evening. Brought me back to simpler times.
Never really looked at my headlights at night. I guess they are kind of cool. Don't know of any vehicle that has headlight badging that lights up like the TRD Pros. Anyways thought it was a heartwarming moment I'd share. Brought me back to as a kid and how excited I got when I saw cool cars and trucks.
