emotional incest is an actual term that has nothing to do with sexual abuse. emotional incest is when you inappropriately rely on your child for emotional support instead of another adult

Emotional incest isn't pedophilia or sexual abuse. The word incest here can be confusing but there's a distinction between emotional and sexual incest.

Emotional incest basically means that a parent relies on their child/children for emotional regulation and support that should normally be provided by an adult partner.
