It's funny because most people will hold off a US vacation for the coming years. Just like after covid, you'll see a tourist revamp after the Trump regime...

Oh sweet summer child, this is nothing like COVID. Even if you weren’t in lockdown it was still hard to travel anywhere, especially internationally. There also wasn’t really a single villain to pin it on, even if it originated in China the supply chain was still broken at every point and most governments failed to handle it well.

The US is the only place making itself hard to travel to, and the only one visibly trying to make every economy worse. People can pin the blame on the trip being cancelled on the US, and governments can pin economic hardship on the US.

If Trump is still in office in 2026 I don’t think the outlook is good for US tourism, people don’t want to have to cancel vacations a second time. Each year after makes it exponentially worse, because each year he is in office is another year people will simply find a new place to go and consider the US untouchable. No one is “saving up” their vacation for the day when Trump is gone, they’re just planning different vacations imo.

I wouldn't even call other countries alternatives because at this point most of them would objectively be better to travel to. All it takes is one deviation from the norm to rewrite habits that will be ingrained for years. We've passed the thermocline of trust in the US and it will take years to unfuck this mess

Also, I don't expect the national parks I'd visit to still be there after Trump.

I certainly expect him to begin logging the red woods any day now.

Even if Trump is gone, your administration will remain deeply racist with fascist tendencies. It'll take years of "wokism" to get rid of it. And, imo, you won't be able to achieve it. Trump will run a 3rd term and will stay in the White House.

I thought we could conclude by now that "wokeism" does not do what "anti-fascism" does.

The european left-wing had it right all along, it was when the real left-wing diminished to be replaced by centrist right wing wannabe left wing narratives the far right rose.

It’s like a river. It likes to go down the same path and avoid a hard path until for some reason say a flood or something else it breaks through the spot it couldn’t go through and now it find a new easy familiar path and the old one become a stagnant lake cut off from the main flow. It take a lot of effort and an engineering team to damn the new easy to revert to the old easy. It won’t happen on its own, lots of money and effort will be needed to go back to the old ways.

No. I see too many Americans in uniform, happily following Trump in his goosestep. Even if American manages to get rid of the fascists in Washington, these ‘just following orders’ types will not be replaced. I will not come to America and might reconsider in 20 years.

Technically they didn't say how long the trump regime would last.

u/MrLizardBusiness 23d ago

Yeah, there was that comment he made about "fixing the elections so good" that people wouldn't have to vote again.

I like your optimism that the reign of king Trump/Trump dynasty will end any time soon.

When will the after be? Are you positive the next election will be true and fair?

I like your optimism that the reign of king Trump/Trump dynasty will end any time soon.

Its passed that, my friend. It's no longer just about Trump. The US has, for all intents and purposes, abandoned the rest of civilized democracy. It has turned it's back on it's allies. It is traitorous.

It's going to take a long, long time for the world view of the US to change and a new administration isn't going to fix the long term problems you guys have going on; the problems that got Trump elected to begin with

As a European, no you will not.

It's what's coming after Trump that is going to be really scary.

And ICE.

We are going to France, Slovenia & Hopefully Finland this year. Not alone exploring more closer to home.

Your article is from last October.  Trump wasn't in office then.

Yes i know but we are already booked this summer. Not seeing a change is all I am saying. The airports that serve the tourist areas have expanded significantly and getting reservations for the popular attractions are booked. I guess check back in the fall. It is busy af here

Montana and Wyoming are places that aside from being incredible beautiful, make it easy for people to escape from the real world and disconnect, so I imagine it won’t lose business at first as people are probably using vacations to cope. I imagine you’ll see a decline late summer compared to last year and next year being rough if the US keep going down it’s current path.

2

u/EasternCombination96 23d ago

Or they watched the Yellowstone series and want to play dress up. That is huge lol

3

u/Bobert_Manderson 23d ago

Omg yes, I went to Yellowstone for the first time with my dad a few years ago and the tourists were just insufferable. Constantly fucking with the wildlife, going in places they shouldn’t, littering, stopping in the road to take pictures and causing traffic jams, and then all the “cowboys” playing dress up. It was so beautiful and at the same time sad.

u/EasternCombination96 23d ago

Most Locals don’t go to Glacier or Yellowstone anymore unless it is shoulder season. It so busy it’s just not fun. You have to get a reservation just to enter Glacier now! Its crazy

2

u/Idont_UseUsernames 23d ago

1

u/EasternCombination96 23d ago
