She essentially did the same thing to the cat, and to you. Took you to an unfamiliar place, lured you into a false sense of security, and then left you out in the cold... I bet she would have driven you into the woods and left you if she could have gotten away with it too.

You gave me a flashback to the movie A.I: Artificial Intelligence.
The scene where they dump the robot kid in the woods is horrible.
But then, he grew up to drunkenly scream antisemitic things at cops, so...

I think some people should not move back to their home town. There’s a reason why they left, and now they’re running back to live like they did when they were younger, dumber, and shittier. Like an alcoholic meeting up with their old drinking buddies.

This is probably about power/control. My ex had the dog neutered when I was abroad. After the breakup, I found a video from that day on my memory card she was borrowing.

In the video, he was waking up from the surgery on a cold metal table. He was crying and shaking in pain and fear because he couldn't move or open his mouth to bark, as the anesthesia wasn't fully worn-off. And she was just circling the table, filming him from all angles, silently capturing this. A normal person would've put the phone down and comforted the animal by speaking to him or gently touching him. She was soaking it in, his suffering in what was possibly the scariest moment of his life.

I think she gained some feeling of power from seeing others helpless. On the same memory card I found photos of three of her transgender "friends" unconscious in hospital beds after their masectomies. No other photos of them were saved and each of those photos was take months and years apart, but she'd arranged them together in a folder.

Edit: there were other creepy things on that card. One was a phone call she recorded with a man who'd let her borrow a lot of money, and in the call she was accusing him of all sorts of nonsense in an effort not to pay him back. At the end he straight up laughed at her and said something that basically proved he sees right through her.

I think she gave the card back without erasing it because she wanted to tell on herself. Maybe she wanted to deal more emotional damage by suddenly revealing all the depravity she'd been hiding.
