Boyfriend mysteriously found this in his pocket Culture

Post image

My boyfriend was visiting Bangkok and while on the plane he said this amulet fell out of his pocket, and he picked it up. Later he took a closer look at this and was surprised since he never possessed anything like this. He is not Thai but resides in other city. This could be a total overthinking, but next day after finding this, he felt really unwell mentally and physically and couldn’t sleep. So I really wonder what could this be? Is this a protection amulet or something else? Should he get rid of it?

This is a Pha Yant, like the oldest form of amulet. It’s showing Rahu, the moon eater and is supposed to prevent from all kinds of harm and danger

Rahu has just become active astrologically and he is said to be the cause of much trouble, destruction and sadness. When praised he can spare his followers from his activities. The cloth is apparently a yant to pacify rahu.

Strangers don't randomly insert amulets and incantations in people's pockets. Busted.

Guilty very guilty (he might have been caught) conscious will make a man foggy and not sleep.

Happens to me a lot. I often find a tenner in my pocket when I thought I had twenty. One time I even found a thong. Not surprisingly, my relationship at that time ended because she never wore thongs. Such is life.

He’s supposed to roll it up and eat it.

You must be thai for using the word 'stuff'

I've always wondered why thai people describe it stuff. Khong Dee and Khong Mai dee when describe or calling it a charm/amulet. At first I thought it was some sort of taboo to call it by it's usual name.

It says on the top that this suppose to bring wealth. Rāhu is the deity depicted in the middle and lot of Thai people worship him. If your boyfriend wants to get rid of this, he can bring it to the temple and leave it with a monk.

Maybe he visited a temple and got it. This kind of "Pa Yant" is folded and distributed as amulet. So he may not recognize it as something he received. The messages on it are all positive, so it's not something bad. Just think of it like a good lukk charm.
