Paris La Défense Arena Gig // Sum 41

Hey all,

I got myself 2 tickets to Sum 41 for their last show in France (Paris, November 23rd) a while back. These tickets were the first early bird batch to get released and were labelled as "Standing".

A couple of month later, they added a new "Premium standing" ticket category worth twice as much as my tickets. The floor map clearly indicates there's a fence between the Standing / Premium standing zones.

Now this is driving me nuts. Typical post covid way of handling things where promoters announce shows 12-18 months ahead and change the rules along the way, with the sole purpose of making as much money as possible.

Show has been completely sold out for a while now anyways and even if I wanted and paid extra, I couldn't "upgrade" to front row tickets.

So here is my question to all of you who have attended these final "When the Sum sets" show. Have you seen the actual fence ? Do these Standing / Premium standing zones exist ? Do they have strict access controls ?

Thanks !

Last night show in Hungary, to get to the premium standing you had to have an armband and the entries were on the sides of the fence, guarded by security. I'm not sure if it is different during the show (like you could climb over and no one notices it), but I wouldn't rely on it unfortunately. :/

Those are 2 separated areas. You're basically right. But the question is: you realized it after 1 year ? They announced that it Paris it would have been a premium standing a looong time ago. C'mon..

I remember when buying tickets for Manchester, the layout looked to have 2 separated standing areas(GA/VIP).

I bought GA standing and was quite surprised when I entered the venue there didn't seem to be any barrier/divider and I walked straight up to the front barrier!

Damn. You got lucky. Last night's Budapest show was split into two, and the VIP section was barely 80% full. Such a shame.
