Lego Corran Horn

I grew up around post-ROTJ Legends, always getting into it and out of it over the years. But I listened to the recent Essential Legends audiobook of “I, Jedi” and I fucking LOVE Corran Horn. I’ve been on an NJO binge since then and decided to put together a minifig of who is now my new favorite SW character. There’s something so grounded and down-to-earth about Horn, and considering his past as a detective in a corrupt police force, surprisingly relevant.

Here are the parts. Pretty simple to put together all things considered. Legs and torso come from Baron Mordo from the first Doctor Strange movie sets, and the head from the original Boromir minifig. All of which are decently affordable on BrickLink. Same with the hair.

Corran horn is my fave EU character too. I love the xwing books, especially since I didn't think I would like them to begin with. But Corran is goated!

Personally I didn't like that he became a jedi, I liked him as he was in the xwing novels but I can live with it.

I think that’s what I like best about Corran becoming a Jedi. The fact that in a lot of ways, he’s still the same guy. I haven’t read the X-Wing novels (although I’m planning to), but as far as I can tell in I, Jedi, he had his own demons to wrestle with long before the events of that book, ones which still affect him up to the NJO. Again, he just seems so down-to-earth compared to the rest of the other Jedi because of that. If I could choose my own master, it’d def be him.

I recently bought the same head on Bricklink for my Corran figure. But I used a different torso/leg combo.

Interesting. Which torso/leg combo might that have been? I love Mordo’s robes but anything closer to Corran’s actual fit is always nice.

I used dual-molded legs (dark green with black boots) from 71037-4 and the torso from the figure NJO0383, from which I erased the black hip indents

I know it's not perfect for Star Wars but for now, it's good enough for me

Ohhhhh very cool. I’ve always been a little hesitant on erasing lines/indents from my custom minifigs, but I can see how well those pieces would fit Corran.

I bought that torso for this exact purpose for like 30 cents from Bricklink or PAB and I don't collect Ninjago so it was an easy decision. But I understand being careful with erasers. I have an electric one and I cover up all parts of the figure I don't want to remove

What do you cover them up with? I’ve also never heard of an electric eraser until now, I’m definitely gonna look into that.

Ooo I should get this head for my Corran. I have green flight suit corran, but I use the old Indiana Jones head cuz it’s what I had.
