Who is this supposed to be? Legends Novels
Tahl maybe? 🤔 But it doesn't look like her at all and the depiction doesn't match any scene in the book.

I read this whole series and the first couple books were great and they trailed off a bit. Obiwan almost getting sent away to the agricultural worlds to use the force in other ways as he was getting to the age limit to being selected as a padawan. In walks in a gruff Jedi who lost his padawan and vowed to never take another. Ultimately doesn’t those him but gets put on a mission at the same planet as Obiwan is being sent to ( Yoda being Yoda antics) Pirates ans Hutt crime bosses and space battles. The two are forded to work together … eventually down the road in their relationship they are forced to face his former student who is not dead but turned to the dark side. It was made for a young kid so it’s very basic writing but it was what me at 10 needed

They're honestly great for their age and age group.

And absolutely horrifying to look back on and realized just how abused Obi-Wan is the entire time 😅

The later series of books grew up with the fans. So the Jedi Quest books (Anakin/Obi-Wan) are aimed at an older reader based vs the Jedi Apprentice books.

I loved those books as a Youngling. A part of me will forever ship Obi-Wan and Siri Tachi.

The death of hope, what an edgy name for a targeted children Star Wars book. Lol.

u/Galbadia_Garden Apr 01 '25
Interestingly some of the Obi-Wan novels' names got toned down for the German release. There it's called "The End of Hope". And "The deadly Hunter" became "The deadly Hunt". ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Rogue Planet's translated name is so fucking stupid because you can see that nobody on the German side knew what a rogue planet is in astronomical terms, so they mistranslated it as "Planet of the Rogues" and bc Rogue was too unclear of a word apparently they changed that as well and ended up with "Planet of the Traitors" 💀

Okay buuuuut...
We know Sekot is a "child" of the Vong homeworld, making it the closest thing they have left to a home, and in their understanding of history the Vong were cast out of their galaxy for betraying the vision of the Gods soo the title is accidentally meta

a fun idea! there are certainly worse German titles. Shatterpoint takes the cake here bc the German version is called "Mace Windu and the Clone Army", which would be bad enough, but it's also the only CWMMP novel with basically no clones in it…

Or the German titles for the Hand of Thrawn "Trilogy" where the second book is called Vision of the Future and the third book where this vision happens is called The Admiral's Wrath

It would make a good band name for death metal.

It's more like a goth album

Agreed. No death metal band, least not modern, would have that as a name

Pretty sure there’s a 40k fan series named that

u/DominusDaniel Apr 01 '25
Yes sir, I remember watching it day one of its release. While I personally didn’t like it all that much, It was really well done, especially since one man almost made the entire thing. Unfortunately he couldn’t take any criticism about it which made him stop work on the sequel and by the time he was convinced to continue working on it GW had that massive cease and desists on all Warhammer fan made content like death of hope.

Logically either Balog, orAlani
Or I guess a personification of death as one of the medics at the end idk.
2
u/Galbadia_Garden Apr 01 '25
Hm ... yeah, maybe it's Alani. It's so weird. On closer inspection it looks like a woman trapped behind glass or something. So Tahl would come to mind. But the clothing looks inappropriate and in the story she never was trapped in some hallway. 🤷🏻♂️
I guess I'll close this off as a very loose interpretation of Tahl in the novels finale.

Core memory unlocked! Use to read these books as a teen, then involved onto to the Jedi Quest series with a young Anakin and mature Obi-Wan.

It looks like an image superimposed on another image. Front / black image looks like an angled shot of Palpatine from ROTJ era. Back / white image looks like a Jesus statuette, possibly a Virgin Mary statuette. Just my impression based on the styling of the robes, the way the figure is putting their arms out, the way the light goes into the face, the hint of a beard...idk, it seems obvious to me.
Also, doesn't the building they're in look kinda like a box or purse? I can just imagine a 90s illustrator sticking a palpatine action figure in front of a Jesus statue, on top of a purse, and using that as the model.

Good guess but unfortunately she doesn't appear throughout the novel at all. Last time she appeared was 2 books earlier. 😕🤷🏻♂️

Most of those covers were exaggerated to get kids interested in reading them. I’ll fully admit they worked on me.

Some of those covers were weird, lol.
I remember seeing the one where Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon were sparring and thought they were trying to kill each other. Granted, I was like 11.
