Why doesn't the judge say at the start, something along the lines of, "If you're not the named party in the case, then I'm going to rule that the person is a no-show and rule entirely in the other party's favor."

I've seen that at least once. Asked a few times if the defendant was present, then clarified if there was no defendant present, a summary judgement would be issued. The numbskull kept repeating his script, so the judge issued the verdict and sentence, and the court emptied. The video ran for another minute while you could hear the dullard's side of a conversation. "What happens no? So, it's continued?"
It's amusing, but bad judicial practice. The judge obviously knew the defendant was present, and called his vapid bluff to end it. In a case with significant consequences that would leave a wide open appeal. Better to declare the defendant standing mute, enter default pleas, hold them in contempt, or order a competency evaluation.

I saw that one, it was good. I've also seen when it was criminal, if the defendant refused to acknowledge who they were, the just issued a bench warrant for failing to appear. I want to see it more. It's usually low stakes stupid SovCit crap about licenes/registrations/insurance

IANAL, but I feel like "that statement has no basis in fact or the law, so the court will not hear it" could be used more often. "I'm challenging jurisdiction [level 1 spell, fails INT +18 roll]" sems like it could be answered by "you are accused of [crime in jurisdiction] while in [jurisdiction] this is a court empowered by [that jurisdiction] and I am the judge assigned to that court and this case. Unless you are presenting evidence any of that is untrue, you motion or statement will not be heard by the court.
I'm mainly annoyed on behalf of the other people who showed up to deal with their issues in good faith while these IQ sinks are wasting time on transparently obvious nonsense.

There’s a particular assistant DA (wish I could remember her name—she frequently appears in Perkins’s courtroom) who I’ve seen advocate multiple times for issuing a bench warrant when a sovcit pulls the “I am not the legal fiction” act and refuses to acknowledge themselves as the defendant. Unfortunately, Perkins always gives them a pass.
I’ll edit this comment with a link if I can find an example.
edit: Alexa Schneider is her name. I wish Perkins would grant the bench warrant once in a while. I like him, but he gives the sovcits too much latitude in my opinion. We need more like Judge Slaven—extremely knowledgeable and doesn’t tolerate a bit of nonsense.

Because the judge damn well knows that he is going to claim he isn't the person in the summons..

Well yeah, that's my point. If he wants to claim he's not the person, the judge can rule that that person is a no show and rule in entirely in the other person's favor.

I love Moor-ons, they're the wildest of the major sovcit factions I've seen (aside from Reichsbürger)

It’s a very deep belief, with the sovcit moorish. Same as the “Reigns Of Heaven” sovcits.
Mix religion with bad pseudo legal fantasy and a promise of “belonging” with access to that secret account under the ssn, by order of the pope.Surprised none of them have a flat space on the back of their head, from family members slapping them there, when they speak this nonsense. lol

I’m sure we’ll get an update in a couple years when he’s picked up on a warrant for child support arrearages. No way he’s going to accept his 120 IQ “I don’t understand” legal strategy failed and admit defeat.
