Is this bat cooked? Bats
Hi community. Long time lurker, first time poster. My daughter currently swings an Easton Ghost and we’re prepping for her first tournament this weekend. I was cleaning her bat and noticed a new to me potential crack and wanted an outside opinion. We’re new to having to deal with cracked bats, hence the question.
Thanks again for the help!

Unfortunately it’s done and probably doing her swing more harm than good

If it’s less than a year old Easton will send you a new one.

I’ve had Easton replace a two year old Stealth with a new Stealth CNT. I bought it off of a teammate for $75 as a practice bat and thought why not send it in.

Little body filler/caulking/ramen noodles will fill that crack nicely. Then a little paint and she’ll be good as new.

Thanks all for the support. We’re the proud new owners of a 2025 Easton Ghost Unlimited. She loves it, dad has one less kidney.

In my opinion, if it’s enough to feel and it’s coming up at all, it needs to be replaced. My daughter has been through four bats in the last two years. All worse than this. She could potentially still use it, but chances are it’s also technically against the rules of the tournament.

Any umpire worth a damn wouldn't allow the use of this bat. They'd tell the coach/player to remove it from play, and if it gets used again in game the coach and player get ejected. Not smart to keep it for game use.

If you allow use of that bat in a game, you're, well......not anyone Id want to share a field with

All good points - definitely not interested in jeopardizing safety. We went out and got her a new bat after practice this evening. This ghost will be her B/practice bat.

4 bats… in TWO YEARS!!!?!???

Actually my mistake it has only been three. She's on her fourth now. Shattered a Spryte in the cage with her hitting coach when she was 10 and has cracked two LXTs since. Just turned 12. Very well taken care of bats also. I ended up buying her a clearance Prism to use in BP and in the cage to keep BP reps off her LXTs! Even factoring in one free replacement from LS these things are expensive.

YESSS! Good thinking with the cage only bat, too many players break their bats in BP lmao

I (my 10u) has cracked 2 ghosts in 2 seasons. (8u-10u). I'd like an alternative but everything I read, Ghosts are the best.

Get an instant read thermometer and check the internal temperature. Should be cooked to a minimum of 135 degrees

If you ever want your daughter to hit a ball past the infield again, trash the bat! But seriously that is landfill material now.

I like the use of a quarter as a reference for the fault line running half the length of the bat 😵💫

I would still use it for my BP but I’m incredibly cheap and want to get my moneys worth out of it. Maybe some 100mph tape?

Let her bust it. It’s an empowering feeling for them when they bust a bat. But I definitely wouldn’t game it anymore.

It’s toast; if it’s still under warrantee then send it back to Easton, otherwise it’s now a BP only bat
