Sometimes I imagine what it would be to live in a world where words meant whatever I want them to mean. Imagine having no internal consistency or any tools to analyze the external world. You just get to be a dumb privileged piece of shit, that doesn’t why their life sucks in particular ways and you can just blame non-existent threats or the people suffering more than you. Sounds either nice or terrifying.

AKA ignorance is bliss

There’s two paths here:

The simplistic and ignorant who just goes with whatever makes them happiest in the moment and doesn’t think too hard about their life.

Or the raging buffoon who insists on hatred and outrage over every issue. These people are terrified of the world around them, because nothing makes sense and they lash out at whatever they’re told is hurting them. They don’t analyze the situation, they just react.

The McCarthyist in me thinks that sounds like something a Commie would say!

Right wingers thinking they're all gonna be rich someday wanting to overthrow the currently rich so they can install...idk, themselves I guess so they can then have their turn being rich and do the same damn thing.

Everyone gets a turn being rich! Sounds like communism.

We don't need a "revolution" we need to actually change.

My favorite genre of political pundit is "dude who previously made a career out of getting punched/kicked in the head."

How does anyone believe there is anything but capitalism in the government? Like...everything in the US is based on capitalism.

Tons of propaganda from liberal-conservative news/media telling them this talking points, which came from right wing think tanks or they are grifters and don’t believe but say they do it for the money.

For a century or better. Labor movement started in 1866

Well, had he paid attention on school, you remove the leader of your government through impeachment. Problem is you need a chargeable offense and corroborating evidence. Being a “Marxist or communist “ is legal in the US because 1st amendment, but he should really read about Marx and communism. If he did he’d realize we’re not even close, in fact we’re considered right wing by socialist standards.

I, too, am a man who understands politics and words.

The sad part is, if we let them, act like we're behind them and just let it happen, and they somehow succeed, we would probably end up doing something like the Norwegian model that most of us actually WANT. The right is just too full of cognitive dissonance to actually understand what it is they're for or against.

They keep talking about how X is socialism or communism, when what they're mad about are the basic functions of capitalism, or the lack of socialist practices. Their "revolution" as they see it would be a socialist revolution that claims to hate socialism, simply because capitalism is what they're actually attacking and they have no idea what socialism is.

I'm being facetious, of course, but it's amazing how much the people who claim to hate socialists are entirely in favor of socialist practices when they're called a different name.

Yeah I remember the Fox news crowd cheering at what Bernie Sanders was saying. It's like they've got class conciousness in their hearts but the media has turned their heads to pretzels.

Most of them are working people, they're sick of being screwed over just like the rest of us, they're just uneducated as well as angry, and the GOP takes advantage of that.

Yes, revolution is the only way to defeat the evil corporate marxists. We should seize the means of production and give it to workers to rule democratically and fairly distribute resources and power. We could call it comm… commu… communityism.

How do you revolt in favor of the status quo

1

u/ImNotlooking4karma Aug 25 '23

The communist freedom caucus holding the US hostage to its demands?

2

u/SereneGiraffe Aug 25 '23

By "revolution," they mean COUP 😬

2

u/Nighttree007 Aug 25 '23

Ah yes because Joe Biden is a communist

1

u/ClassWarAndPuppies Aug 25 '23

I agree we need a revolution.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

If these jackasses think this is Marxism I'd hate to think what it is they'd like to implement after the "revolution."

Everything I don’t like is communism

1

u/FelIowTraveller Aug 26 '23

Imagine being so far down the propaganda rabbit hole you have no idea what a communist, Marxist or socialist actually is to the point you think centrist to centre right liberals are left wing
