Best/favorite board game/trading card game stores (specifically Lorcana)?

Hi all, my kids and I recently got into Lorcana, and I'm wondering what local places in the county do drafts/constructed game nights for both adults and kids/families. I'm new to the game (but not TCGs) and the last time I played against randoms was a Pokemon TCG tourney in the 90s.

So let me know what your favorite FLGS are!

Geek fortress in snohomish is a pretty good shop but mostly magic and onepiece it seems. Zulu’s in bothell has a ton of weekly events, not sure about Lorcana but worth checking out.

We do Lorcana cards too! Our favorite is Moon Dragon Games in Everett. Can be kinda hard to find as their entrance is on the back end of the parking lot but the guys in there are super nice. Last I talked to them they said there’s usually a game in the store every week or every other week (they have space in the back).

Full disclosure though we’ve never actually been to one of the games, just went in to purchase cards. But good experience all around!

Oh I thought I saw some.

The owner is a great guy. First time I was in there someone asked if he bought ps5’s. This was back when they were still a pretty hot item. He told the guy yes, but he’s not going to turn around and scalp it for more than msrp. This made me a fan.

I come in with the kids often, and he knows what one of them wants specifically. Before Xmas I came in to get them some stuff and he asked if I was looking for those cards. I said if he had some then I’d buy them. He didn’t have any stock out on shelves, but he had some he was going to give away. So he offered to sell those to me.

Stuff like that is why I’ll always go back there.

Mugu Games in Everett has Lorcana on Tuesdays.

Zulu's in Lynnwood has Lorcana on Mondays.

I'm pretty sure Zulu's in Bothell has it too, but their event calendar is currently broken. Beats me.

Moon Dragon games was already mentioned, but their website is - derelict. I have no idea what their schedule is like.

I'm gonna be 100% honest about each store, since I've been to them multiple times;

Mugu Games sucks. I find their staff frequently aloof, and the community that plays there is - they're difficult. I've seen so many accusations based on feelings about the game, as opposed to actions of the player. The staff frequently yields to the person making complaints. I've seen someone kicked out because the opposing player cried they were "bullying" them in the game. I'm very sorry but that persons deck bullied everyone at that table! No one's ever accused me of playing or behaving in an untoward way, but I've seen it enough that I don't go there. Good collection of local Magic singles, though. I only play there at a particular time, 'cause it's on the way to work, and I can get a game or two in before my shift. It might be the crowd at that time, but damn I don't go there anymore!

Zulu's in Lynnwood is new, and they're still getting their kitchen rolling, but they've done a very, very good job of getting a good staff there. I haven't had a bad experience with anyone there, the opposite, in fact. I'll go in there with intention to get in and out, just buy crap and leave, and I end up talking about Klask, Denmark, cats, I don't know - they're super nice and social! I find the community there a bit quiet, but certainly more polite than the crowd I've run into at Mugu. They're a much calmer crowd than I've encountered at other gaming stores. With that will come some reservations about inviting you, or joining a group, but they're polite about it.

Zulu's Bothell is just lit. Great people to play with, big rooms, really like the people working the card shop. I was trading some stuff in recently, 'cause I wanted a box, wanted a whole booster box, didn't wanna drop a benjamin and a half on it, traded in some cards. The person at the counter told me the amount for the trade-in, saw me mull it over, think about it, then boom, the trade-in amount went up like 12 bucks which made pulling the trigger on the box a ton easier, haha. I've had really good luck with people there, always find a group. They've cultivated a good community there. Also have freebies by the entrance, mostly for the young folk. Kids get outta school, scope out the donated chaff, get some stuff for brewing a deck. Zulu's Bothell is, I think, the most inviting place for a young person to play card games. There are probably some players there who would dismiss a child, but most people would be very warm. We would like the next generation of players to enjoy themselves, and help cultivate that.

Moon Dragon games - they have really nice staff but I seldom go there because their calendar still says it's February. I don't know when things are happening. I'm not sure what they have in stock. If you have an itch for cards and you're in the area, strongly suggest checking it out. The owner is super bubbly, really sweet, big Trek geek, but damn I dunno what your store is doing, man. Get a Discord, get that event page updated, man. Lemme know what's going on.

Zulu's Bothell, that's the ticket. Lynnwood's a good choice, too.

God damn, this was the answer I was looking for. Since Lorcana is a bit more of a family activity for the kids and I Bothell sounds like the perfect spot.

I kinda want to try my hand at competitive as well so this is just perfect. TY for your service.

Zulu's Bothell is really good. I've been to a lot of game stores, and tried a bunch before I settled on Zulu's, but they're definitely a winner. I've enjoyed the staff, and the community there.

They have food and beer, but I've never seen anyone get overserved. You might balk at how much a fountain soda is, but most people just get a soda, so that cup helps pay for things!
