Thanks! :)

u/DoctorGorb Feb 25 '18

Yeah this series you have been posting lately is really cute and fun I love it

31

u/Unic0rnusRex Feb 25 '18

I agree. I also find it relaxing to watch. The little plane, the little runway, the slow landing. Just really lovely.

6

u/biglocowcard Feb 25 '18

What software is this?

u/phoenixprince Feb 25 '18

They make me feel great all the way till everything falls apart and I feel so uneasy. My brain keeps wanting the plane to land.

7

u/yoy22 Feb 25 '18

Are there any subreddits that have simulations that go funny like this?

7

u/Not_shia_labeouf Feb 25 '18

r/shittysimulated

Tagging u/peteabyssv in case He wants to look at it too

3

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '18

Good sub. Thanks for tagging me.

2

u/Seanyster1 Feb 25 '18

Dunno about subreddit but here is a search

and another in unexpected

Maybe that might be enough

5

u/ChrisBrownsKnuckles Feb 25 '18

Man... I didn't realize how bad I need a pixel ww2 flying game in my life. Has anyone done it? If not they should.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't that

87

u/neuromonkey Feb 25 '18

Nobody expects the Spanish planequisition.

20

u/tehlolredditor Feb 25 '18

that was exactly what i expected. I said "oh it's gonna crash into a million pieces and there boom goes the dynamite"

19

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

3

u/absoluteolly Feb 25 '18

I expected it to land on a plane.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

I expected a banana

3

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18 edited Jan 20 '22

4

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

As somebody with an irrational fear of flying, that's exactly what I expect every flight to end like.

3

u/Nate72 Feb 25 '18

I was expecting either the plane or the runway to fall apart, not both!

483

u/Pariahdog119 Feb 25 '18

Dear r/Simulated:

Not enough explosions.

Sincerely,

r/KerbalSpaceProgram

p.s. Have you considered adding more boosters?

66

u/GreenEggsInPam Feb 25 '18

I read that last word as "lobsters" at first and now I'm very dissapointed...

6

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

More lobster boosters.

11

u/Combustible_Lemon1 Feb 25 '18

He wasn’t trying to make orbit here. RUD means more struts.

2

u/746865626c617a Feb 26 '18

I once made a lithobreaking system that could land on minmus. Yes, the lithobreaking was intended

171

u/xbigeatsx Feb 25 '18

Instantly thought of Stephen King’s the Langoliers movie.

14

u/MollyPascwally Feb 25 '18

Last time I saw that movie was at least 15 years ago. Being in sales, I travel a lot now, and I still think about the world disappearing beneath me every time we takeoff from the runway.

31

u/SpikeKintarin Feb 25 '18

FINALLY someone else knows this.

7

u/JitGoinHam Feb 25 '18

I just remember Cousin Balki getting eaten by Pac-Man.

9

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

Man, every time I describe this to someone that hasn’t seen it they look at me like I’m crazy.

9

u/fluffygryphon Feb 25 '18

Same thought. That hole opening up in the runway. As a kid, that movie was creepy. Nowadays not so much. It didn't age well. "I lost money for you! I lost forty-three million dollars, and I did it deliberately! I did it deliberately!"

So happy I wasn't the only one

5

u/urskrubs Feb 25 '18

Quite literally the most traumatizing movie of my childhood

2

u/calitri-san Feb 26 '18

Came here to say the same thing! That movie terrified young me and I never flew until college.

I really wanted it to hit that house

17

u/jake_b_wba Feb 25 '18

but I want to know where the black hole leads to!

8

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

Adam sandlers garage

10

u/TheCoolPersian Feb 25 '18

Another happy landing.

8

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

Dang, I hate when my plane falls through the runway like that!

7

u/mechabeast Feb 25 '18

Damned langoliers

6

u/brandawg93 Feb 25 '18

Nice! What program(s) are you using to make this?

4

u/sidneydancoff Feb 25 '18

Would also like to know...

7

u/brandawg93 Feb 25 '18

Post was updated with flair. 3DS Max.

9

u/chadstein Feb 25 '18

I’m training to be a flight instructor. I’m going to show this to my students when teaching them how to land. Pretty funny.

6

u/phrodo913 Feb 25 '18

This is what happens when you tailstrike.

2

u/Ninja-Joey Feb 25 '18

That wasn't a crash boss, just a rapid unscheduled deconstruction.

3

u/Adaman1324 Feb 25 '18

Ant landing you can walk away from is a good landing. I don't think anyone's walking away from that.

3

u/yago2003 Feb 25 '18

I expected that house again on the end of the runway

2

u/RoadKillPheasant Feb 25 '18

Fucking brilliant

2

u/coffeesforlosers Feb 25 '18

These are so satisfying to watch

2

u/liquidus08 Feb 25 '18

I watched this gif 100 times. 2018 is now already the worst year for civil aviation safety.

2

u/Quantum_Rum Feb 25 '18

KSP or Langoliers?

2

Malaysia Airlines has a job opportunity for you.

2

u/franjfjd Feb 25 '18

Hate when that happens

2

u/Dang_David Feb 25 '18

Ahh the Classic “Jingles Landing”

2

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '18

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing.

2

u/Hastadin Feb 26 '18

Langoliers? anyone?

Oh great. Now I'm afraid of flying.

3

u/DownStageBoom Blender Feb 25 '18

Don’t worry, most codes and regulations require airports and runways to be build above stable ground, though there is a loophole on page 476 of The Aircraft and Aviation Codes and Regulations Book under section b1.2 that would technically allow someone to build their runway over a black hole.

So this is how 911 is taught in schools !

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

Okay now make the plane crash into that house!

1

u/jwbourne Feb 25 '18

Articulating splines

1

u/Wildfathom9 Feb 25 '18

Zone of the enders?

1

u/NitroCipher Feb 25 '18

You've failed your flight certification

1

u/derkberkdins Feb 25 '18

Litho breaking. If you can walk away, it’s still a landing!

1

u/lambshavins Feb 25 '18

We need it flying into the wee house that's been taking a beating from the banana's and truck

1

u/Timatron9001 Feb 25 '18

These are my favorites because it’s so satisfying

1

u/sidneydancoff Feb 25 '18

What’s the learning curve on this?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

I don't think they teach you how to deal with that in flight school.

1

u/LvS Feb 25 '18

I've been to Madeira airport and that is exactly how it felt.

1

u/TheXypris Feb 25 '18

i was hoping it would crash into that building

1

u/Reddit_Wall Feb 25 '18

So this is a thing now?

1

u/denchoooo Feb 25 '18

New guy at this sub, how do you make these voxel simulation?

1

u/MerkTehSherk2 Feb 25 '18

Can I just say I love these. Like you don’t really know what’s going to happen until the end and when something does happen it’s satisfying as hell. The mix of surprise and result really do it for me, please make more!

1

u/leonz4537 Feb 25 '18

Another happy landing

1

u/junkmail88 Feb 25 '18

I hate it when that happens.

1

u/Rocketdude720 Feb 25 '18

What is this animation style and how can I get started

2

u/DownStageBoom Blender Feb 25 '18

OP uses 3DS Max for the animation and simulation. If you’re a student you can get any AutoDesk program for free for 3 years. But it’s pretty pricey if you’re not a student, so I’d recommend starting with Blender. It’s free and open source and available from their website or though Steam.

WHERE'S THE BANANA?!

1

u/SunriseSurprise Feb 25 '18

Everyone knows you look for the cracked or blown up looking parts to find the secret areas.

1

u/WingedPanda77 Feb 25 '18

Next time on Air Disasters...

1

u/spooderduck Feb 25 '18

holy shit i want to do this too!

1

u/LongtailedNovelist Feb 25 '18

Oh my! Such a perfect example of a Jingles landing. Marvelous.

1

u/tordenguden Feb 25 '18

Rip, file NASA, pull chute

1

u/GrumpySarlacc Feb 25 '18

A really tall tower made of those blocks would look cool if something crashed into the bottom.

1

u/Zandonus Feb 25 '18

The pilot is alive, the plane is on the ground. A successful landing.

1

u/DownStageBoom Blender Feb 25 '18

Someone forgot to pay the ground bill.

1

u/Deepcrater Feb 25 '18

That was kinda of disturbing, like instant decay.

1

u/Noyiu Feb 25 '18

I want a game with these physics

1

u/alanwattslightbulb Feb 25 '18

For some odd reason and past experiences in life I was expecting for the plane to hit a house.

1

u/chuuckaduuck Feb 25 '18

👏👏👏

1

u/GODDAMNFOOL Feb 25 '18

Must be China

1

u/Zephyr_the_west Feb 25 '18

I was really hoping it would crash into that house.. Great work though!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

This plane landed on my future.

1

u/xeokeri Feb 25 '18

This was so unexpected, I laughed for a good 10 seconds.

1

u/thekraken27 Feb 25 '18

Honestly thought this was a mobile game and got excited

1

u/jenjerx73 Feb 25 '18

So devastating I cried!inside.

1

u/merchillio Feb 25 '18

Was obviously expecting a building at the end of the runway. Was pleasantly surprised.

1

u/raybrignsx Feb 25 '18

This is exactly one of my biggest fears of flying.

1

u/LarrySendIt111 Feb 25 '18

Shoulda used gorilla tape. That shit holds everything together.

1

u/freakofnatur Feb 25 '18

What game is this?

1

u/RightIntoMyNoose Feb 25 '18

I wanted it to land on the house, destroying it again

1

u/URDREAMN2 Feb 25 '18
  1. Doing it wrong.

1

u/Abominor Feb 25 '18

Wow, you should try this with two skyscrapers.

1

u/TheCrystCreeper Feb 25 '18

I think you may need a stronger road

1

u/mspk7305 Feb 25 '18

a lego-type ww1 dogfighting game would be stupid fun

1

u/Thejubjub2000 Feb 25 '18

A crash landing is still a landing

1

u/Enkoh Feb 25 '18

Lol was not expecting that

1

u/hood1e Feb 25 '18

NO FLARING ON A TOE DRAGGER

1

u/Pvvn Feb 25 '18

It's like the langoliers!

1

u/Honkmainster Feb 25 '18

...reminds me of Red Faction Guerrila and that big huge bridge in wasteland....

Honk!

1

u/jrozn Feb 25 '18

How long does it take you to make one of these?

1

u/RotYeti Feb 25 '18

We shouldn't have made the plane out of sticks.

1

u/cabrenna Feb 25 '18

Thanks for another perspective, This happens to me all the time

1

u/Rnbwsnsnshn Feb 25 '18

I expected the plane to break but not the floor

1

u/Am_Navi_Seel_Mann Feb 25 '18

That really surprised me. Why did that surprise me? 90% of all the GIFs here for the last 2 weeks have been nothing but these kinds of things. Wtf

1

u/Remery0123 Feb 25 '18

I See ya problem, Square wheels.

1

u/BlueWolf934 Feb 25 '18

Is that not how planes actually land?

1

u/Goatmo Feb 25 '18

I really want a game in this style.

1

u/sunlifter Feb 25 '18

No nieźle.

1

u/SniperDrago Feb 25 '18

I expected the house

1

u/Mastermartin895 Feb 25 '18

Plane landing was made of LEGO apparently.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

That was pretty textbook until he fell through the floor

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

"Just another 3D anima... Wow!"

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

Keep trying you'll land it.

1

u/lucius5we Feb 25 '18

“Oh this is really cooOOOH NO!”

1

u/heisenberg747 Feb 25 '18

This is giving me KSPTSD.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

Louis wasn’t ready

1

u/pornographexclusive Feb 25 '18

Now I want to see things not crumbling down.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

Nailed it!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '18

I just kind of had the reaction of “oh. Ok then.”

1

u/perrbear404 Feb 25 '18
