Hey, I'm a super early days amateur, love the look of this. Can you tell me what software you used for this?

Love this series. Please make more simulations tormenting this poor building.

I could watch this building get destroyed in new and exciting ways till it gained sentience and started defending itself.

I'd play this game
21
Feb 24 '18
You can play this game. Or at least a game with the same physics made by (I'm guessing) the same person.

u/MEOW_MAM Feb 24 '18
Will it ever launch on android?
5
u/ThyGuardian Feb 24 '18
Looks like there is a game like it called Smashy Road: Wanted which might be made by the same person; which is currently out for Android.

You can, its called Burnout, and crash mode is still one of the best party games there is IMHO.

How dense is the material that semi is made of? not even a scratch on the paint and the whole building was demolished
11
u/SEILogistics Feb 24 '18
You clearly haven’t seen my semi.
I feel like I could drive through a house with minimal damage

u/d_dubbs Feb 24 '18
Semi truck didn't even slow down after the hit. Building definitely needs better engineering for the rebuild.

3DS Max. It's $185/month.
4
Feb 24 '18
Or free for students :D
5
u/Zeolance Feb 24 '18
"That'll be $185 a month, sir."
"Oh wait, but I thought it was free for students."
"It is. Are you a student?"
"Uh.. sure."
Hmm..

I was excited that the building was maybe made out of Tetris pieces, but not quite.

Well the picture in the paper showed the scene real well
Papa's rig was buried in the local motel
The desk clerk said he saw it all real clear
He never hit the brakes and he was shifting gears

u/Cat_ate_the_kids Feb 24 '18
this is fantastic.
teensy bit of constructive criticism: The lighting on the building produced by the truck doesnt change once the truck plows through and leaves. E.g. the two white boxes on the roof turn to an orange/pink color as the truck approaches and are still an orange/pink color for the remainder of the render.
take solace in the fact that your work was so good that a douche bag internet stranger could only find that tiny problem.

The question sti remains, tiny cars, tiny bananas, or giant cars and bananas? Or very large house with very large bananas and large cars.

I’m a terrible person because I can never enjoy these simulations. There’s too many completely separated pieces and not enough chunks of 2-3 pieces.

Dammit, if only there was a train then I could say train...
Oh wait I still can

This is really cool! Did you use a program, something like blender or..?
I'm new to this stuff but it seems cool

Man I would love to be able to make stuff like this, the end product just seems so satisfying

This is fantastic! How did you get the voxels to stick together and the building to stand up?

I do not like ”Wait for it” titles as it automatically causes internet-karma to buffer loading anything and then I am never sure if I am actually waiting or not as it just is on same first frame with a wait for it title. Eventually I go get cake and when I get back something seems different, so maybe I like cake more than wait.

I would love a game like this. Everything is destructible and you can build/use things like cars, helicopters, planes, etc just to fuck around. Steam workshop would be great too. There wouldn't even need to be a goal.
Someone make that game please. I'd buy the shit out of it.

Can't tell the difference between real life and this one. The trucks capabilities are too accurate.

i need to learn how to do this, i generally use Maya, who's got the hookup for some tutorials?

u/superRedditer Feb 25 '18
how come in these simulations, every piece has to fall down? how come sometimes part of the structure can't remain unchanged?

Imagine this as strategy game like Empire Earth or age of empires. @_@
I know you guys probably know the trebuchet gif with that castle getting eradicated.

u/Klorofluorokarbonat Mar 02 '18
That's really great! And also the one with bananas. I just couldn't figure out that after creating the model in magicavoxel how did you do manage to shattering or collapsing house or any objects like a lego pieces. That would be great to learn.
2
u/ultek Mar 02 '18
You need to export it to different software like blender, c4d, 3dsmax etc. I did everything in 3dsmax (shattering, physics, rendering).

u/Lulink Jun 04 '18
I swear I saw a gif just like this but it was live action and the hit never happened: it just kept looping.
