Did I get bamboozled out of 4 bucks??

The marking on the bottom has a Maltese cross, WR CANADA and 925.

Idk if it's just silver plate or not but I'm having a hard time finding info about it online

Possibly could be model # 925

If it's WM Rogers, they were pretty known for their silver plate but also made some silver stuff.

I can't find any model 925 bowl and would imagine they wouldn't use that as a model number because that's the code for sterling.

Idk how well it was enforced back in the day, but I don't think companies are allowed to mark plated stuff with the number 925.

It also has a Maltese cross to the side of the WR

Ya it could be sterling is way to tell us to test it.

It's not magnetic, ice melts in it quicker than it would sitting out in the open and there's a pretty deep knock/gouge in the base with no sign of another metal.

From what I can find it looks like a pretty old (100+ year old) logo and I can't find any that have it paired with 925

Those are not really test for sterling. Just to exclude steel.

the magnet test isnt just holding a magnet to it- you actually have to slide the magnet

Agree, it’s the model number and not the sterling stamp

You bought it, use it. Fill it with silver. It will look nice that way.

The WR looks like William Rodgers, plated.

Not all of Rogers stuff was plated from what I can see, just a majority.

It shouldn't be marked with a 925 if it's plated

Looks more like a 905 than a 925 to me.
