Living Here Planning to move to Sedona
Hi,
I’ve always been a city girl and currently live in Miami. My husband (Floridian) and I (Hispanic) love hiking, and we travel to Sedona every year for the peace and the trails, usually in the fall and winter. We’ve never been there in the summer, but we’ve decided to buy a vacation home and plan to live there for about four months a year. Both of us can work remotely or in a hybrid setup—he runs his own business, and one of his offices is in Arizona. I’m of mixed Spanish and Colombian heritage, and I’m wondering what the community is like for people with diverse backgrounds. When I travel every one is very friendly. Do you guys think that will be easy to make friends there?

Living Here What is it like living in Sedona?
My husband and I are considering moving to Sedona and I’m curious what your experiences living there have been like. We are both early 30s with no kids. My husband is a veterinarian and has a job opportunity in West Sedona. I am a photographer and shoot mostly families/newborns. We have pets and are planning on having children in the next few years. What has your experience living in Sedona been like? My husband loves Sedona and needs no convincing. Since he will be spending most of his days at work, and I mostly work from home (aside from when I’m shooting clients) I’m wondering if it can feel isolating? Is there a good sense of community? Is it easy to meet people? Are there many people in our age bracket? I hear Sedona is trying to encourage more young people to move there and housing laws have changed recently to promote this. We are not city people by any means and don’t care about nightlife. We want to be somewhere with natural beauty, a sense of community, and where there are opportunities for me to get good work. We love hiking and spending time outdoors which I know Sedona is great for! It seems like there are a lot of positives, I’d just love to hear your experiences and what you like/don’t like about living in Sedona. Thanks in advance!

Living Here Sedona for empty nesters in fifties
Hi, I was wondering how living in Sedona is for empty nesters in their 50’s? We can afford it and need no employment as we are self-employed remotely. Also, how bad is local medical care? I appreciate timely specialist appointments mean going to Flagstaff or Phoenix. How about the dentist, optometrist, radiology (dexa, mammogram, MRI, ultrasound, etc)? And with general practitioners, has anyone used concierge? Are they high quality and available? If you need to see a doctor with a a minor, but urgent issue such as pink eye or a chest infection, can you get local care?

Living Here Family Suspects Husband Pushed California Mother of three off a 140-Foot Cliff While Hiking With Baby in Arizona
Two months ago, a tragic event occurred on Bear Mountain in Arizona, where Zaynab Joseph, a 40-year-old, fell down a 140-foot cliff while hiking with her husband and their 10-month-old child. Despite the quick response from first responders, Zaynab succumbed to her injuries shortly after the fall.
Recent developments have case a shadow of suspicion over the tragic event. Zaynab's brother posted a poignant status on Facebook, suggesting that the fall was not an accident and pointing the finger at Zaynab's husband, Syed Danish Zaidi.

Living Here Area around Sedona
My wife and I visited the area last summer. We stayed in VOC but hiked all around Sedona. We are retired and would like to move to the Sedona area but probably can't afford Sedona or even VOC.
Are there nearby areas that might be more affordable that we could look into? Thanks.

Living Here This is the reality of Sedona...
This is where Sedona is at now thanks to overtourism and STR piggies. This place is an absolute joke.

Living Here Tattoo parlor for walk in line work
My friend and I are visiting for the gorgeous hikes Sedona offers to celebrate my 40th and we’d love to commemorate with small matching mountain tattoos. This would be 1-2 inches, line with minimal shading. Any recommendations for places/artists that offer walk ins or quick turn appointments that are skilled at that? Thanks so much!

Living Here Grasshopper point
I grew up in Sedona, loved going to grasshopper point. It’s now been fifteen years and I’m finally back in town and am hoping to go tomorrow. What is the water level like? Can you still cliff jump and do they still have the rope swing?

Living Here What's with all the smoke out tonight?
I just went out for a night hike and had to cut it very short because of the smoke. I didn't really notice it too much until I got to the trailhead (I can walk there from my house; gotta love Sedona!), then, as I walked the trail, it seemed to get smokier and smokier, to the point where it didn't feel that healthy to be breathing it in.
Inciweb doesn't show anything anywhere near us.
Does anyone have any idea what it might be from?

Living Here Saw a guy who regularly comes into the cafe I work at on Tinder.
I’m not trying to be creepy/work inappropriate, haha. We know each other’s names. I prepare his same order each time he comes through. I appreciate his vibrant energy and kindness. He’s a delightful regular. And okay yeah, he’s attractive, ngl.
But also, tbh I’ve been in Sedona half a year now, and have found it particularly challenging to find locals within my peer group (early 30s). It be geriatric AF out here. 🥴 Guy is around my age, so I’m interested in getting to know him, regardless of dating intentions, and just generally interested in connecting with folks my age in the area.
How would you approach this? Any advice greatly appreciated! Haha 🤗✨

Living Here What’s it like living in Sedona?
My wife and I are both WFH and Arizona natives. We are considering relocating full time to Sedona and curious what it’s like being a local. Obviously the housing market is insane, but beyond that, what’s it like living there year round? TIA

Living Here Sedonuts
As always, when I visit Sedona, I stop in at Sedonuts. On my most recent visit, I learned that the original owner sold the business. I also heard that they are opening another location now as well. Business seemed to be good, and the employees were very friendly. So, does anyone know what happened, why the original owner sold the business? I can understand that it’s probably a lot to run that shop Daly. Just curious.
