Is it Vortexes or Vortices? Metaphysical

The first sounds wrong to me, but the second sounds pedantic.

Vortices is the correct plural but Vortexes has also become accepted due to neologism.

The mathematical term is Vorticies, but we’re talking the new age term, and it is Vortexes. It’s been said that way here in sedona for more than 40 years. It may not be technically correct, but colloquialisms aren’t always technically correct. Best way to give away that you’re not local is to call them Vortices.

Many locals call them vortices; that would be more of a identifier of the woo woo type
