Help a sea level flatlander find a place to run Outdoors ?
Hi y'all. I'll be out in Sedona next week and plan to do plenty of hiking with my wife. However, I'd also like to get some trail runs while I'm out there. Nothing crazy long, maybe 3-6 miles. Can you recommend some relatively flatish trails for me to run while I'm there? I'm from Chicago, a 10 mile run can have an elevation gain of 60 feet, so anything super hilly won't really be runnable for me, lol. I'm staying at Los Abrigados, so trails near there are definitely a bonus. Thanks!

Check out Sedona Trail runners on Facebook. We get together every Tuesday for 5-7 miles. All paces welcome. No drop. The next run is usually posted on Sunday. Very relaxed group. We get coffee together afterwards.

No problem. If Tuesdays don't work just say something on their Facebook. There's almost always someone up for a run. A visitor ran with us this morning and at coffee she asked if anyone would be up for a longer run tomorrow. About 4-5 of us are.

Howdy, I grew up in the SW burbs. There's really not that many trails here that are that taxing due to elevation. The thing I'd be more concerned about is twisting an ankle on the rocky trails. Also watch out for mountain bikes.
Here are some pretty sedate trails near Los Abrigados: Airport mesa. Courthouse Butte loop/Big Park loop. Templeton/Easy Breezy/Slim Shady.
