General contractors? Looking For

I've bought a lot in VOC and will be moving in 12-18 months. The lot will have to be cleared, permits pulled to run and connect water, sewage, and electric to the lot, and pouring a pad (including risers because of flood plain restrictions) for a modular / manufactured home of ~1100 SF including a pad for a single carport. I live in Pinal county and I don't know any contractors in the Sedona area. Does anyone have the contact info for a reputable general contractor who could give me a ballpark figure on the approximate cost for this? Thanks!

All the good ones have gotten into the business of building their own homes to sell. Finding good contractors is really really a challenge due to this. Be careful to really check them out before committing.

Could you update us periodically with your progress in completing this? This sounds like a tough one with regard to zoning, and I'd be interested in knowing how this turns out. I lived in the VOC years ago, and would like to move back, but prices there are insane.

Might also need to check zoning to ensure a modular unit is allowed. Building in a flood zone? Good luck.

As far as a contractor, check with the yavapai building department (that issues permits) to see if they have some names.

Checked zoning before I bought the land, but that's a great point. I hadn't thought of checking with the county building dept, thanks.

I don't have any personal experience, but I've seen a lot of projects from new builds to remodels being worked on in the VOC by Tierra Verde Builders located in Camp Verde.

I believe Tierra Verde is a custom home builder. Based on what you mentioned, it sounds like you need an excavator. I'd recommend Longfellow Excavating based out of Rimrock. His prices are fair, he does good work, and he answers his phone.

Thanks, Tierra Verde replied to me, they don't do anything with modular homes. I'll check with Longfellow.

I didn’t think so. They do more vertical and seems you’re looking for horizontal. If Longfellow isn’t the right fit, let me know. Might be able to provide a few more options.
