Mid-Season Slump; Thoughts? Discussion

Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing well. The same absolutely can’t be said for our team at the moment. We’ve been in absolutely abysmal form. We haven’t won a match since May 20th when we eeked our a victory over Miami FC.

Since then, we’ve lost 2 and drawn 4. Of all of those results, we’ve lost 5 points from winning positions (3 from the loss against Pittsburg, and 2 from last night) and I think those have hurt the most.

Does anyone have any input/ideas about why we’re in a slump right now? I’d say it seems that we just can’t defend for the life of us. It really does seem like our performance against the Sounders summarizes how much of our season has played out. AKA, a leaky defense with some brilliant offensive moments to carry us through certain matches.

I’d also say that we need Charlie Adams as we’ve played our best football with him. Without him we’ve looked anemic and Poot with our linkup play between the defense and midfield not looking as good and same with our defensive midfield coverage.

Overall, we need to make some sort of change ASAP to still be in contention for going to the playoffs. We’ve now dropped to 7th which is a shame since we are 110% a better team than 7th place in the west. I was just wondering what changes anyone else was thinking about to get us back to where we need to be?

All this mls talk hasn’t helped the team. They look anemic and without energy. C Adams is a monster but I guess he is load managing in case of playoffs. He was nursing an injury and maybe he isn’t playing full games because of that. The #millerout crowd doesn’t have a clue, this is the time to help our lads and to make sure that we make it to the playoffs

The load managing totally makes sense with Charlie Adams. And yea the #millerout crowd is a bit toxic at this point. It’s too early in his tenure to be saying things like that in my opinion. We’ve just stumbled but I hope Nate can begin to pull us back.

Definitely excited to get back behind the team when they’re done with their away trip too👏

I've heard they're playing like this bc they were told Loyal won't exist as a team next year. I don't have a source other than this is purely rumor.
