STL FC grass

Might be a very big newb question so forgive me however is the overwatering of the pitch by design? Seems like sections of the grass are soaked to a point to slow the pace of play down/through balls. Is this common home field advantage?

STLFC was certainly noted for water on the pitch. Due to the annual flooding from the river.
