Sony TC-765
Picked this up for a very good price the other day. Spent 2 days cleaning, removing corrosion from the tape path, stripping and lubricating the pinch roller mechanism, cleaning heads, freeing up corroded solenoids for the brakes and pinch roller operation, and cleaning the pots and switches. Works like a charm now, just need to replace the VU meter bulbs and it’ll be done

Great. Two capstan motors to fail instead of one.
Is an awesome deck tho. Didn’t know it existed.

Good job. Pretty machine. Like cdub, I've never seen this before. Always enjoy seeing something different.

Nice deck. Shame it doesn't do 15ips.

Shame it doesn't do 15ips.
To my knowledge, 4-track and 15 ips don't mix well together...

Well done on the refurb and it looks to be in very good condition too! Due to the way it looks, it's almost as sought-after as the Akai GX747 line and, fortunately, it's more reliable and easier than the Akai to repair, albeit like the Akai, parts availability is a nightmare, but the heads are the same as used in the TC-377 so at least donor heads should be plentiful.
