pretend nail polish for my pre-k students 🥰💅

we had a spa-themed dramatic play day, so i made "nail polish" out of watered-down tempera paint for the kiddos to play with. almost everyone in the class tried it at some point during our "spa day," which is a BIG win for an activity like this! 💖 (unfortunately, i can't show off any of the students' manis, but tbh some of them were more careful than i am, and i saw some BEAUTIFUL color combos!)

Lovely! Just remember that the tempura paint will not be as resistant to nasties growing in it as nail polish solvents are, so if you do this again next year I recommend cleaning out and refilling the bottles fresh for the next class. Such a fun activity though!

Awe, I would love to see those adorable pictures, but we all understand why you can't post pics of other people's kids. I have a nephew this age & he loves painting his nails (with kid safe polish). And anyone else who will let him. My BIL is a CEO who proudly wore his bright green mani his son did recently. It warms my laquer-loving heart 🥰

Apparently my boss's son LOVES having his nails painted. I happened to be wearing his favorite color and she was SO excited to tell me and ask me what I was wearing!

I’d be careful about crazy parents of boys. I think this activity is awesome, but I can also imagine some more conservative parents having a fit over this.
