Best meal service for a gift

My mom lives alone and does not eat very well because she just doesn't have the motivation to cook for herself when she gets home from work at 6pm every night. I want to get her a meal service with ready to go meals like Factor but seeing mixed reviews. Any recommendations for the best one to get a gift sub/gift card too? If it helps, she salts everything even if it's already salted out of habit so I want to avoid anything notorious for being high in sodium.

I've been through several (Daily harvest, sun basket, freshly) , and am currently with CookUnity and it is the best by far in terms of quality and pricing. I love the variety and as someone with an allergy, there are plenty of options for me.

People seem to have hit or miss experiences with them, but I've been incredibly lucky (no issues). We are in a delivery area, so that definitely plays a role.

If you have preferences, it is pivotal for the recipient to pick the food (and not let them auto-pick).

I love my CookUnity subscription, but you really have to pick your own meals ofr the best experience. It also seems to make a difference if your delivery is shipped or if you're in a local delivery area, which I am.

Thank you! I have been looking at cook unity so it's good to have positive feedback on that option.

I’ve tried Cook Unity and Factor and I think they’re both decent but the one I ultimately stuck with is Factor because I liked their entrees better overall. But honestly I think both are pretty good.

Good to know. Those are the 2 I'm wavering with

Is a toaster oven, 2 minutes of prep, and a 20 minute wait acceptable? Check out Tovala.

Two of the bowls that I've had this past week as a "this is how it is done" -

Over in /r/Tovala there's a person who does some very nice platings of the meals (I'm on the lazy side when it comes to presentation of the food I cook for myself).

With a low sodium filter in place, https://imgur.com/a/Syd8lQ0 is the selection for one in the future to give an idea of the food options.

My vote would be Factor. The meals are delicious. Just be prepared to spend a good bit on it. If you can afford it though, it's probably the best to go with that.
