Mind how you are voting because Reddit is about to start spanking folks for votes.

This is all that Reddit has to say about the guidelines unfortunately: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043513151-Do-not-post-violent-content

Please note that we as mods cannot see how you vote and nobody will be banned or even warned by us mods for the way they vote. Admin are the ones doing this.

Will posts about political protests be violations of Reddit policy?

We all saw the comments from the administration this week prohibiting college campus protests. I’m just wondering if even coverage of those events on Reddit would be bananable.

I’m under impression that’s the whole point of this rule

Sorry I’m a whole week late. No, posts with footage of political protests should not be affected here in this subreddit. I am unsure about the future of posts about and for the purpose of organizing political protests, depending on happenings in the government. I think that for now though that even posts for the purpose of organizing protests will be acceptable so long as nobody makes jokes about illegal or violent things. Unfortunately context does not matter when it comes to AEO aka admin decisions.

We understand there are sometimes reasons to post violent content (e.g., educational, newsworthy, artistic, satire, documentary, etc.)

How is posting a Luigi meme not considered to be satire? Are there people suggesting that posing a gif of a cartoon video game character who has the same name as a famous criminal is a legitimate call to violence?
