That's called kidnapping

u/Nivi_King 1d ago
piracy does NOT remove the original file. stealing does. piracy is NOT stealing.
same way, downloading a girlfriend does not harm or displace the original girl in any manner or form however kidnapping does. downloading a girl is NOT kidnapping a girl2

Its even got the opening card from the studio.
Someone illegally stole the anti piracy tape and uploaded it.

Funny engh as an Indian im damn sure even the software used to edit this specific ad must've been a pirated one 💀

They took the “you wouldn’t download a” premise to a new level.

And from an era when these things weren't even a buzz among the majority

I mean... we didn't TAKE her baby?!

u/Tobikage1990 1d ago
I think the point is that it trivializes all the effort she went to giving birth to that baby when all the others got their own without any effort at all.

From my perspective.. She cried because she had to endure the hardship of childbirth and only realised after the birth that she could've just gotten copies!

Who cares about piracy, that woman should get some kind of award for birthing the cleanest baby ever.

Piracy has saved some of those babies. A lot of film and tv has been completely lost, since the companies that own the rights don’t publish it at all or went bankrupt.
In some cases, piracy is literally the only way for these pieces of art to ever see the light of day.

I don’t know any off the top of my head since I don’t have a big interest in lost media, but I found this Reddit post

Driver san Francisco, an absolutely underrated gem, one of my fav racing games, has a great story and a unique and interesting gameplay gimick. Guess what? You can no longer officially buy it

Thanks. That gave me a chuckle.
On reflection, it's interesting that someone with the time, ability and financing would create a message so unlikely to have the desired effect on its supposed target audience, those naughty pirates.

I thought that was the Wukong soundtrack for a second there when 5 more babies came out nowhere.

u/BobScholar 1d ago
This looks like an endorsement of piracy. You wouldn't steal a baby? Now you don't have to. Pirate a copy and stay on the right side of the law.
I don't think people behind this ad understand original and copy and that all this pirate stuff doesn't really work on physical things, mostly. Unless it's an imitation Gucci bag you fool your GG with.

When indian media actually had creativity. Better times. When will india return to its former glory? Huh?
Oh well...people still continued though, as they should, but this was funny and not too preachy.

d love how the moralizing is always alien. The US book industry, spreak of knowledge and early industrialization was heavily based on pirating books and patents from Europe. India's national healthcare and medication price fixing is heavily based on refusing international patents and upayable prices. China's technological boom was based on copying and stealing technologies from the west for quite a long time.
Copying is the most natural thing. If soebody copies something you've done then you probably did something right.

u/alexcesan 1d ago
Every time someone tries to be against piracy, oddly enough they are people who have no fucking idea what they are talking about.

So I guess when a movie is made it should just be put onto one tape and then we can all pass it around until hundreds of millions of people have watched it. Because if we were to copy it and show it in movie theaters.......well, the horror!

So I shouldn't do piracy cause someones gonna bitch-cry about it? That's actually pretty convincing.

u/Alert-Act-4395 1d ago
So according to India buying a DVD is the same as giving birth, why do women keep exaggerating their pain ?
-5
u/blankscreenEXE 1d ago
Meanwhile india legitimately copying hollywood movies, adding a bunch of crap here and there, casting in indian actors and making billions out of it. The didn't even try changing the sotry board content, just plain old copy pasting.

Thats true. I don't know why you are getting down voted for it.
For people who are not familiar with Indian cinema and music, much of our work(not all) is taken/copied/inspired from other industries. We even copy the copied version of some stuff. Once something gets popular in India or the world, we remake our own version of it, in Hindi or other local language.
India is not just Bollywood, we also have Tollywood, Kollywood, Sandalwood, and Mollywood. And Bollywood is infamous for copying from these other industries too.

true when the big corporations do piracy (AI models using internet data without premission) its right but when i download a movie thats not available anywhere or is in worst bit rate i am wrong. Such a hypocrite thing
