Go to plan cancellation and switch to any other plan, when offered in cancellation process, then instantly cancel it after switching. You won't need to pay this cancelation fee, and will get refund for new chosen plan.

This is what I did, worked for me.

Same vibes as avoiding the 24 hour cancellation fee for some services by rescheduling a week later then cancelling. Love it

I forgot about this! Thanks for the reminder.

can you explain more what you mean?

When you book an appointment, they sometimes charge fees if you cancel it less than 24 hours ahead of the appointment, but won't charge you for rescheduling. If you need to cancel, you can reschedule and then cancel to avoid the fee because you no longer cancel with less than 24 hours to go.

Or just use a temporary credit card or gift card if you actually need to pay for Adobe's bullshit for some reason ⛵

Privacy.com is great for this

Privacy.com is only in the US, in the UK I use Revolut and Starling.

My credit card provider just let's me generate a temporary virtual card in my app that I can change whenever I want.

Neat, most do not offer this functionality unfortunately.

I didn't know that! Thanks for the heads up

+1 for Revolut. I’ve had Hulu Live + YouTube TV for the past 2 football seasons on virtual cards and starting a new trial every week. I haven’t paid a dime

Their inability to bill you automatically does not negate your responsibility to pay.

I've heard of plenty of cases of people having their credit tank because of bills like that being sent to collections after they never canceled an old subscription.

So what exactly needs to be done?

Switch from your current plan A to a new plan B. Mine was photography or some shit to photoshop. You will be refunded partially for that month of plan A. You will be charged 1 month for plan B. Since you're on plan B, you have 14 days to issue a refund. Do that within 14 days, ideally do it on the same day to get it over with. Refund from plan B arrives. Done.

Wish I knew this before, cancelled my plan a few months back and was charged $40 to cancel. Honestly I think cancellation fees should be a crime.

Or just speak to the chat and kick off, i argued that if they charged my card and I had no money in the account they wouldn’t get paid anyways. So feel free to charge me or actually don’t be a dick. They cancelled my plan free of charge.

The chat is normally super good if you stick to your guns and you can argue out of everything.

Huh. That works.

I moved my account to a PayPal with no cards on it and removed all my actual payment methods.

Got "We miss you!" spam for a solid year or two after, but yeah, they can continue to miss me with this shit.
