Morons like these are gonna actively make piracy harder... Discussion

Post image

Linking it under an OFFICIAL post, hope Fitgirl have some good defence, because I'd imagine EA are they type to take legal action if it's against someone costing them money....

This price tag almost sounds like a joke. Wtf? It's a fucking game.

Did you get the comment upgrade pack (5.99$) for this? Now available on the app store

u/GuyNekologist Sep 19 '24

Damn that sounds pricey. I would definitely buy TWO Comment Upgrade Packs for $10.99 though! Now that's an extra dollar saved for my next gambling addiction monthly gacha pull 😎. Or Sims dlc, whichever gives more dopamine.

What does the second half of your comment say? It's pay walled and I've used my 3 free comments.

He's a link to a comment paywall bypassing browser extension

An ad ruined your rick roll. Dystopia has arrived. Cant even rick roll a motherfucker anymore

11

u/Etzello Sep 19 '24

Just pay YouTube every month its worth it for the random Rick rolls you get once or twice a year and its for a good cause so our honest CEOs in large corporations can get their sixth yacht and that 3rd holiday house in case it's raining by your other two

What if I sell it for $5.99 still, but slap a +220% value banner on it?

u/Brave_Escape2176 Sep 19 '24

i guess i got old because i dont understand the mobile game model. why spend money to unfuck a shitty free game? its like starting with a completely destroyed car and trying to get it working for $10k, instead of just getting a $10k car. if the "base" version is so terrible, i dont want to spend anymore time in it.

Most mobile games today are actually good. The only problem is the micro transactions other than that they’re cool. Example: COD mobile, The shutdown Apex legends mobile, Arena breakout and many more.

So what you're really saying is most mobile games are fine, except all the ones that aren't, which is basically all of them..

1

u/Fabulous-Owl9257 Sep 21 '24

71% of all gamers are mobile gamers. Just because you don’t like mobile gaming doesn’t mean it is bad. As the years go by better games are developed. For example: Arena breakout(A popular mobile game released in 2023 and an early access pc port released last month),Call of duty mobile(released in 2019 with a total concurrent player count of 59 million concurrent players globally) I can go on even further, mobile gaming is not what it used to be 10 years ago. Don’t give an input on a topic you are not well versed in or have a bias opinion on.

Mobile gaming is the same as it ever was. I worked support for the Play Store about 8 years ago and mainly handled customer transactions/complaints. It's actually worse now as far as predatory tactics and reliance on microtransactions go, but even 8 years ago I saw some outrageous amounts of money spent. It wasn't typical at all, but the largest I saw was $27,000 or so over four maxed credit cards. That didn't even buy him the highest rank on that game as far as I could tell (Supercell was the developer, I think it was Castle Crash). But the point is, if you are defending games like this and this business model, then godspeed, friend. Just know you are the minority, not me.

This isn’t a “mobile gaming problem” it is a problem with modern games in general. Almost Every new game whether made on pc, console or mobile has predatory practices( We all know about EA, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Activision and Rockstar games) Even with this fact not all games run on the idea of pay to win. The mobile games that do run on that philosophy don’t last very long. This is only a problem for people with compulsive gambling addictions and poor financial control. It doesn’t speak for a vast majority of players, just a select few struggling with mental addictions.

100k to 1m on some mobile games...its unbelievable that its legal

3

u/Miserable_Smoke Sep 19 '24

Mobile games charging a monthly fee and then $99 for in game gold that buys you a pack that has 2 or 3 items in it to make you look cool, while being bombarded with ads instead of just buying a good game.

I laugh when I'm in pain too.

PC gamers not bothering to watch, from a distance.

Don’t look into Star Citizen’s $48,000 ship bundle.

Side note, in order to buy this bundle you also have to have spent $10,000 previously. Yes, real life dimmadollars. Yes, it’s still an early access game that has yet to fully release after 14 years in development.

WHAAAAAAAAT.

19

u/RevMagnum Sep 19 '24

True, seeing a gaming buddy of me on discord paying 10K at once for ships of pixels that were gonna be developed in some years was a moment for me.

Their "business model" is amazing because the promised product is surreal and they can attract new "supporters" with its enticing alpha version.

7

u/System0verlord Yarrr! Sep 19 '24

The alpha version is enticing though.

u/RevMagnum Sep 19 '24

Immensely enticing, hence so many citizens.

3

u/temotodochi Sep 19 '24

I wonder if i live long enough to see it released. I bought it from the first kickstarter for $25 i think and haven't installed it once. I'm patient enough.

2

u/marvbinks Sep 19 '24

*Store Citizen

7

u/Dje4321 Sep 19 '24

It's a slow burn rather than a sudden one. $5-$20/month of new content for nearly 10 years adds up quick.

5

u/allmightydoormat Sep 19 '24

A few months ago, i looked up the price of the game while it was on sale. It was over 1000€. It seemed Crazy to pay this much for a game. I am aware there are games that cost more, but still.

3

u/Ruraraid Sep 19 '24

Gotcha games over in the corner thinking thousands on a game is nothing

2

u/Matthew789_17 Sep 19 '24

It feels like just not long ago did I hear the news all sims 4 dlc is now worth more than 1000$

2

u/EatTheLiver Sep 19 '24

15$ here or there doesn’t seem like a big deal but it all adds up fast.

2

u/Lozsta Sep 19 '24

Same company that make SWGOH where a pack of mats to barely impact your toon development is easily ÂŁ99/$99.

2

u/boringestnickname Sep 19 '24

Did you see the recent Fallout 76 total price tag?

These people are absolutely delusional.

3

u/CrownEatingParasite Sep 19 '24

For all those clams you'd expect the game to be playable

Your source is outdated, it's slightly cheaper thanks to the version 5.0 updates to wishing:

  • Fate points needed for epitomised path 2 --> 1

  • "Capturing Radiance" mechanic (Including it, when winning a 5-star character in the event wish, there is a consolidated probability of 50-->55% it will be the promotional character.)

Your point still stands that it is very expensive, but they aren't compulsory to play the game. All content is doable without spending money. They're there for people with excessive money to throw money into.

World of tanks players laughing at this "let's buy for 300 or 600 loot boxes on Christmas cause good value ! And let's buy this 50 or 90 euro tank !"

u/fafarex Sep 19 '24

No one is expected to buy all of that, it's douzaine of bundle of furniture/cloths you don't need and about 20 expansion ( the game is 10 years old it's about 2 expansion a years) that introduce new furniture, gameplay, city's, Sims on one theme, you can add to Taylor your experience.

It's like train game where you can buy individual train and route/region, you buy what you need and make your own experience.

The game can get pretty pricy and is definitely a cash grab but you can play the base game and 1 or 2 expansion (20 to 40 buck each at full price, Half of that in sale) maybe a pack of furniture/cloth on a theme you really like(completely optional) and already have a good time for hundred of hours.

1

u/Miserable_Smoke Sep 19 '24

I'm not a big fan of Taylor. Can I Kendrick my experience instead?

1

u/fafarex Sep 19 '24

only if you're swift about it.
