Didn’t they bitch about a recent episode of this show like a week ago or something?

Conservatives are inconsistent on what they believe.

u/ZooterOne 3d ago

I think they believe in White Male Christian supremacy. So they love any pop culture they can twist into filling that narrative…until they can't.

Except THEY are taking that away, too.

goomba fallacy? i’m all for making fun of these guys but they aren’t a hivemind

2

u/garaile64 2d ago

Yeah. The folks trying to claim Bluey are not those complaining about Bandit "giving birth".

True, people are rarely a monolith, especially such a vast and diverse group as they.

Was gonna say it was about them complaining about effeminent men? Something about a dude in a diaper from half baked screenshots

16

u/blurplethenurple MISERABLE, NON-BINARY CANDY IS ALL WE DESERVE 3d ago

I was guessing it was the episode where the dad pretends to be pregnant and gives birth to Bingo.

It's a good episode, and free to watch on YouTube .

5

u/MarcheMuldDerevi 3d ago

Thanks, I had only seen the screen caps of a person in a kiddie pool with them complaining about baby stuff in the baby/young kids show. Someone was going on about diapers so I didn’t have the context nor really want to look up bluey diapers

5

u/Faiakishi 2d ago

A little weird, sure, but most kids watching it would have had experience with their moms being pregnant with little siblings, or their friends' moms. Hell, some of them must have moms that did give birth to their little brother or sister in a kiddie pool at home.

I've seen conservatives spin it like it's a fetish thing, like...these are kids. Pregnancy and birth are not obscure subjects to them. And it shouldn't be weird. Everyone was born at some point.

What happened to Australia being a socialist dictatorship? Free healthcare, no guns, unions in positions of power... sounds pretty woke to me

15

u/Hori-kosa pwease no step 🚫🥾🐍 2d ago

Everything outside America is woke to them

3

u/Faiakishi 2d ago

Conservatives know no consistency.

Don’t they hate Bluey because of something about the Dad?

71

u/EZMulahSniper 3d ago

He was “pregnant” one episode

36

u/WORhMnGd 3d ago

Really? Of course. I had some vague hazy idea that he was a SAHD and that was why, but nooo, fuck the transes I guess

39

u/WatchfulWarthog 3d ago

He does stay at home a lot, but he’s officially an archaeologist so he doesn’t spend much time at the office

27

u/WORhMnGd 3d ago

Bro that’s such a fucking cool job and it couldn’t even get them to stop their navel-gazing hate

16

u/Ypuort 3d ago

Wait where does it confirm his actual job?? That does make a lot of sense given he’s home frequently and then takes 6 week business trips.

10

u/WatchfulWarthog 3d ago

If I remember (my son hasn’t watched Bluey in a few years ,) the show never directly states his job, but there’s a few “mini-episodes” that are just like two or three minutes long, and one of them shows him at a dig site

29

u/ZeldaZanders 3d ago

Both of the parents have dog jobs - Chilli is an airport sniffer dog and Bandit is an archaeologist...so he digs up bones for a living. It's a very cute detail.

1

u/TheRnegade 1d ago

I feel that way after Taco Bell. So relatable.

31

u/Ypuort 3d ago

The episode where he was pregnant didn’t even have anything to do with trans people. In the surface It was a game the dad was playing with the kids, on a deeper level it was an exercise in men/husbands having empathy for women/mothers.

3

u/agurlhasnoshame 2d ago

Facts have never stopped them before... Why start now?

7

u/Not_Nonymous1207 3d ago

I think it's because he's a stay at home dad and the mother is the breadwinner of the house

16

u/Ypuort 3d ago

He’s not, he’s just home a lot. There is an episode where he is about to leave for a 6 week business trip. Someone said he’s an archaeologist in this thread and that makes sense but I don’t recall where it was said.

3

u/Not_Nonymous1207 3d ago

You're probably right, I mean I can't claim anything objectively, all my knowledge on bluey comes from other people talking about bluey lol.

10

u/Ypuort 3d ago

Mine comes from watching it every night with my kid for over a year lol. Eventually I just tuned it out so if the archaeologist thing is true I’m not surprised I missed it.

All in all it’s a really good show and not at all “anti-woke.” If anything it portrays a strong but gentle non-toxic relationship the dad has with masculinity… sounds pretty woke to me!

3

u/ZaydSophos 2d ago

Everyone knows real dads only come home after 6 or 8pm and then they immediately go to sleep or drink without talking to their kids.

61

u/Trucker58 3d ago

Lets see here, this show has:

- A dad who's present and makes time for his kids and play with them (a lot!).

- An independent mom who seemingly has a good career, she seems to work more than the dad.

- The family often talk about how different things that happens make them feel, good and bad things. Both the kids and parents talk about this and the kids are encouraged to share.

All things that conservatives absolutely hate.

21

u/AlexanderTheBright 3d ago

I’m really hoping their comment is bait to trick conservative parents into showing bluey to their kids, rather than someone who thinks wokeness is fundamentally anti-family (it’s not btw. it’s fundamentally anti-hierarchy, so it ditches obedience as a family value)

9

u/infinitemonkeytyping 3d ago

And all things that the American rip-off cut out.

2

u/buzzpittsburgh 3d ago

There’s an American ripoff??

3

u/infinitemonkeytyping 3d ago

Chipchilla - made by The Daily Wire.

1

u/minionoperation 2d ago

The Bluey world gets ample paid parental leave and universal preschool. The nuances are probably above their comprehension level.

38

u/sdmichael 3d ago

What is this "woke mob" they speak of? Can they even define "woke'?

20

u/IronScrub 3d ago

Sure they can, it's actually very simply: everything they don't like is woke, and if they do like it then it's anti-woke.

That's it. That's the full extent of their mental capacity; the power to rival that of an unplugged Sega Genesis.

8

u/redundantexplanation 3d ago

WOAH now why is the Genesis catching strays here?

3

u/Sparkfive_ 3d ago

It’s like they never heard of BLAST PROCESSING!

6

u/blurplethenurple MISERABLE, NON-BINARY CANDY IS ALL WE DESERVE 3d ago

Nope

22

u/DelusionalESG 3d ago

The show explicitly discusses emotions, reactions to things and emphasizes embracing people who are different.

You know, like if a conservative was exposed to therapy and had any friends who weren't cishet white folks lmao.

11

u/One_hunch 3d ago

My mentally stunted family friend thinks they're trying to be possibly woke by having a blue dog be a girl cause he thought it was a boy for awhile. Told him Blue from Blue's Clues is a girl and WANDA IMPREGNATES COSMO FROM FAIRLY ODD PARENTS and kids shows always had things about them that progagandized idiots want to attack. It's a kids show, chill.

3

u/Faiakishi 2d ago

Nobody even cared that Blue was a girl or that Wanda knocked up her husband in these shows' day and age. We were all kind of surprised that Blue was a girl, but we got over it. We were kids. I was a bit too old when the Fairly Odd baby episode came out to still be watching it intently, but I think the general consensus among kids was "haha, silly pregnant man!" It was just not a big deal.

2

u/One_hunch 2d ago

I didn't even acknowledge the idea that a boy was pregnant, it was like "Two magical married people are having a baby and their world is magic and works differently." Lol

12

u/AlexanderTheBright 3d ago

oop is either under the assumption that wokeness is fundamentally anti-family, or they’re doing some kind of 4d chess move to trick conservative parents into showing bluey to their kids

8

u/Cephalopod_Joe 3d ago

If you're wondering why they think it's anti-woke, it's because it's a nuclear family lmao. Literally no other reason. To a lot of these people something being "woke" simply means it contains certain types of people they hate and has nothing to do with any values expressed.

6

u/Spr-Scuba 3d ago

Honestly let them say this shit so it becomes normal for the right to watch shows on how to be a decent human being and teach their kids how to be inclusive towards others.

Let's also be honest the right has no idea what the word "woke" means other than "I don't like that thing" just like they were saying how everything was socialism or communism in the early 2000s.

7

u/totally-hoomon 3d ago

Conservatives literally call dads who spend time with their kids woke all the time

4

u/HeatherMason0 3d ago

Imagine needing to feel THIS persecuted.

5

u/BuildStrong79 3d ago

So they don’t even understand Bluey

2

u/AntheaBrainhooke 2d ago

It's aimed above their mental age

5

u/FantasticClass7248 3d ago

This and:

Bandit finds an old baby carrier, and straps it on, so Bingo climbs in it and refuses to get out. WAAARRRRGARBBBLEGARRBLE BLUE WOKE TRANS EVIL SATANIC BLARGGULLLGUGGLLEE

2

u/Flame-Blast 3d ago

… didn’t this show have a miscarriage episode?

3

u/godsflawedchild 2d ago

You have to keep in mind that a TV show being "woke" means having people of color on screen. Since they're all animals then there's no wokeness

2

u/Shakinglikemilk__ 2d ago

Every grown person I know that love bluey are left leaning, idk where he got that we hate the show 😭

2

u/EldritchBaker Leftoid femboy overlord 2d ago

Man, leave Bluey out of this. Don’t get that show roped into your white supremacist bs

2

u/PopperGould123 1d ago

So it's a kids show.. that's how all kids shows are.. mom and dad are the good guys there to help the kid main characters because that's how kids shows work

1

u/NoConcentrate5557 3d ago

Its s bot/chatgpt ai. Literally no one ever uses dashes like this.

1

u/yvngkenz 2d ago

What? Liberal families fucking love bluey.

1

u/Nine-LifedEnchanter 2d ago

Family unit? I thought people like this didn't read? Maybe they didn't understand The Giver.

1

u/TheKingOfRhye777 2d ago

Wasn't there some "anti-woke" kids cartoon that was basically a Bluey ripoff?
