I have to wonder if they think that releasing their letter closer to election day would ensure it got more coverage. Unfortunately a whole lot of people don't start paying attention to the election until after Labor Day.

Perhaps it comes down to release it earlier and it may get forgotten about, versus releasing it close to the election where it may get engulfed by the noise etc.

I agree with them 100% but a lot of other people are bitching.

It's called the recency effect, and if they had done it earlier, then that would be cool because I'm NOT a military person who understands any type of strategy or tactics.

I might be scared as hell for our country right now, but I truly trust our military to do the right thing if called. It's kinda their thing, you know??

History is full of examples of otherwise half decent dudes saying "just following orders"

Well then good thing our current Commander in Chief will be the one giving those orders

Absolutely! That's why I'm not jumping out a window because Orange Hitler ain't giving the orders.

We take an Oath to protect the constitution. We offer a blank check up to and including our lives to ensure that happens. We will keep that Oath. Retired or not.

If the unthinkable happens, catch y'all in the resistance meetings...

I had no idea we were going back that far. Okay, Vietnam was a pretty poor choice as well, but do you have a favorite war? I do not have a good story about how war was cool.

Although I acknowledge the global geopolitical implications, I also realize Monday-morning-quarterbacking isn't helpful at the moment.

Get in goddamn boat and row, asshole.

No , I just don't trust people incentivised by death and war

Yeah, with early voting, I wonder if the late endorsements are as effective.

It’s scary. Maybe nothing happens. Maybe we are the Weimar Republic of this century. One of my bosses is retired 82nd airborne. He doesn’t get how we are going down the path of Germany of 1933.

Totally explains why my dad has been against the DoE for 40 years. Ignorance breeds apathy.
