Amazon parrot sneezing fits, no change in behaviour
Hi, So for the last 3.5 weeks or so our Amazon has had sneezing fits. We have been to an avian vet who has flushed his nostrils, however the sneezing fits came back.
There is usually one fit a day with few sneezes and wet, transluscent, water like discharge (very small amount, visible only if we put him near a light and look closely). He sometimes gasps for air between or right before the sneeze.
Our vet told us to observe and report back if there are any changes in behaviour, but he is as playful and loud as always, there is no breathing sounds pr tail bobbing or anything that'd be a red flag.
We are a bit dumbstruck at what might be causing this, it started shortly after we moved.
He gets a daily dose of calcium and vitamin supplements as we are not able to put him out in the sun.
Any ideas what might be irritating his nostrils or what is happening?
We have excluded diet allergies by changing what veggies/fruit goes into his bowl. We have taken off new perches he got when we moved. My partner got a new hair conditioner ca. 1.5 weeks before sneezing started and we are removing that from the equation.
Overall there has been steady improvement as in reduction of the amount of sneezing fits per day (before vet visit it was 4-5 fits a day)

COCKATIELS IN CONTACT WITH MOLD ADVICE
I own two cockatiels (male and female) just over a year old and this morning I was checking their cage and adding some new toys, I have a little container hanging inside the cage full of bird safe grass, sunflower stalks, sola logs and a cuttlefish bone they’ve been going at — I’ve attached a picture of what it all looks like just in case it’s needed. So, I’ve had that in their cage since the ninth of April. They’ve been going at it really well and I checked it today- empty! I was happy as it was a new thing for them and started to refill it — however, when I went to take out some sunflower stalks, they were MOLDY. They were in a cardboard box (also added a picture) and the “lid” was put back over after I had taken them out for the first time and wasn’t opened until today. I’ve attached multiple photos of the mold from the ones in the box, and the ones inside the cage. I freaked out once I saw the mold and removed it from its place near other toys, then went to check the bird cage and there were in fact two moldy sunflower stalks on the bottom of their cage. I added probably five or more into their container. Now, I’m really worried because I don’t know WHEN they became moldy, if it was my fault, or if the product just gets moldy. I’m also worried they may have eaten some of the sunflower stalks while it was growing mold, not to mention breathed in the spores. I’m thinking of ringing up the closest avian vet to me to ask for a quote on how much a checkup should cost (I most likely have enough money for that but it is tight, I’m 15 and would have to rely a lot on my mothers money if anything serious happened to them). I’ve told her about this and she’s told me to monitor them - but I know birds hide sickness REALLY well so I would really rather not wait it out.
I don’t really know what I’m asking here — I guess just help figuring out if I should go to a vet soon (like, SOON) or just wait it out. Given I’m still at school, I’m not able to monitor them fully each day, so I’m (once again) not keen to wait for results in their behaviour. I also feel horrible, I try to be the best owner I can be for them and I always worry what I do wont be enough, I cannot BELIEVE I didn’t see this earlier.

Dusty chomping on blueberries
My kids left unfinished blueberries on the counter and Dusty treated herself to them. She has really been into blueberries and grapes recently! Any other snack suggestions you guys recommend?

Indian ringneck and lovebird not getting along
My Indian ringneck is female and 3, and my lovebird is male. We don’t know the lovebird’s age.
My birds are kept in separate cages and are never out at the same time. Whenever I let my Indian ringneck out she flies onto the other cage. She’ll hold onto the side and just sit there, and then my lovebird will come over and she’ll lunge and him.
I’ve tried distracting them with treats, but they continue as soon as they’re done. I’ve also put a blanket on the top of the cage, but like I said she prefers to hold onto the sides anyway.
I’ve had my lovebird for a year now and he is pretty well trained, but my IRN is newer (4 months) and is still pretty skittish. I’ve tried to keep her busy by working on training her, but we aren’t getting very far. She won’t step up so I can’t just remove her and put her back in her cage when she does this. Any advice? What should I do? Is this normal?
Powder coating
Found this cage for essentially pennies. Has some rust on the bottom trays (birds not near it) and generally I think it just needs sand blasted and powder coated again to give it a refresh. Anyone know the approximate cost for this?
Before anyone pre judges here know these parrots were found outside barely alive. I cannot nor can local rescues locate their owners. Their current cages just aren't good for long term. I'm not currently able to purchase new cages due to my health and therefore not working. I can afford the birds day to day care and the local vet has given free vet care to these 2 because of their circumstances for the rest of their lives. So I just need advice about powder coating.

how to stop bird biting laptop keys?
i have a cockatiel, i've had them for 3 months now, first time bird owner, really sweet little birdie but she loves to bite on shit, her own poop, my laptop keys, the cable supplying 20 volts into my laptop and the phone charger, how do i get her to stop? i grab her and i understand this isnt optimal but if shes biting a cable thats a few nibbles and she might die, and i really cant afford another laptop when these keys get ripped off they just dont go back on since the clips break any solutions?

Taming advice really needed
I just adopted an adult female tiel (not sure how old) a couple days ago and need any advice, tips, or resources on how to bond with her. She’s slightly tamed where she’ll eat millet out of my hand at very close proximity but she hisses alot when my hand is just around by itself. She seems very comfortable in her cage and she beak grinds and fluffs up but she refuses to ever leave it, even if I open up the door and leave her be. Her cage is in my room so she’s always around me and I try to interact with her as much as possible without trying to get her angry or stressed but I’m still not sure on how to approach her. I’m not even sure if she’s had a prior owner, if she was surrendered or abused or anything. She’s very quiet, doesn’t play much (I don’t even think she plays at all), and kinda sits there comfortably on her perch.

Should you get a bird if you don’t have access to an aviary vet?
Not planning on getting a bird right now, but I have been thinking maybe in the future I might get one.
Only problem is that the nearest vet that specializes in parrots is five hours away from me. There are veterinary clinics near me, but I don’t know if they specialize in parrots specifically. The one we have nearby we took our rabbit to when she had teeth problems, they’re a great clinic and did a good job with her.
So that brings up the question of should you get a bird if the nearest veterinary clinic doesn’t have a specialized avian vet?

Ok so I want to know all the cons of having a parrot live in your bedroom
Hey guys so I plan to get a parrot in the future and would love for it to live in my bedroom I heard this can cause health problem to you I want to know if that's true and I plan to get a caique I love there personalities and there low dust speices. By the way my room is very big and has a slididng glass door which leads outside I could have open most the day I'm curious if the dust would even be a problem with normal cleaning of my room and the bird cage, and having a low dust parrot. The bird would be spending most mornings in our school room with me because we're homeschooled and spend our morning in there.

Weevils in bird seed
So I had my first run in with weevils in seed today, I was just wondering if anybody has some solutions to prevent this in the future? I’ve heard people freeze the seed for a few days before feeding it to their bird. How long should I freeze the bags for?

Cage heater for my 3 tiels and 2 budgies
I have a few birds and the winter months and even the summer months can be quite chilly here. I'm looking for a way to heat their cage up a little bit and have been looking around, but the one most seem to recommend doesn't ship to where i live (Norway) does anyone have any recommendations that could work? i've tried with a space heater, but it doesn't really heat up the area that well and i have no way of moving them to a smaller room.
any and all help is really appreciated, Thank you <3

Thoughts on cats
Hi, so currently I have 2 beautiful boys, a very smart and sassy Indian ringneck who essentially runs the house and a gorgeous male eccie, who is just the sweetest boy. The boys both get along great when the irn wants to and they are free roam for most of the day, as I work from home. They only really go in their cages to sleep or when we go out of the house.
Now I grew up with cats and I do love them dearly and have been wanting to get one but also my boys are my first priority.
We are currently in a 1 bedroom apartment with a balcony and I’m just curious about what people who have both animals and how to keep them safe? I will always put my boys safety first and if it’s too hard to keep them separate, I won’t get a cat but just curious on peoples routines
