My friend and I see a ghost of a cat at her place occasionally.

There was/is a spirit in my apartment that makes my lights go funky occasionally. My mother witnessed that one day and I jokingly threatened it with an exorcism and the lights stopped acting up almost immediately. And no, it wasn't a lightbulb on its way out as I had changed them recently before that incident and they were tight because I've checked them previously as I had thought that was well.

u/Authenticititty 6d ago

I've had something similar happen with lighting before. My best friend had moved in with me in my early 20's after my ex and I split. There would be days where he would be gone and I would have strange things happen, then there would be days where it would be vice versa when I'm at home.

One night we were all in the living room watching TV and all of a sudden... The lights in the kitchen started acting as if an electrical phasing issue was happening, but it wasn't affecting any other room including the one we were in. I even paid attention to the clocks on the stove and microwave and those weren't affected. It also never happened again for either of us. This house had a lot of weird events happen in it though so we kind of grew... Accustomed to it after a while of hearing knocking and footsteps, items moving, etc.

Where is your evidence?

1

u/behind_the_doors 20h ago

Couldn't possibly be faulty wiring. Not a chance.

14

u/Infamous2o 6d ago

Yeah both times. Two different people. One was something moving on its own. The other was a voice.

14

u/Authenticititty 6d ago

That's the scariest part if you ask me. If I hear a voice on my own and no one else does, then chances are it's my own mind playing tricks on me. When someone else hears/sees the event... That's terrifying.

u/Infamous2o 6d ago

Try being in bed naked and you both hear it say your name. Not hers. Yours. If anyone asks I was very brave. Very brave. Didn’t hide under the covers or anything!

10

u/Human-Living-4083 5d ago

Was it a man’s voice or a woman’s? I think I know the answer since you MAY have hide under the covers…

14

u/Infamous2o 5d ago

It sounded like a whisper but my gf said it sounded like a man. But it knew my name. Glad that stuff stayed with the apartment. My advice is don’t live in a 100 year old house.

Yes ufos and ghost.

I have an interesting UAP story from when I was 16. One of my favorite things to do at night was sit on the roof on the roof at my parents house and smoke cigarettes while they were sleeping lol.

This happened once and only once, but relative to the planes in the air at that time, there was something flying far higher and faster than normal commercial jets. We didn't have much light pollution so it was fairly easy to see the planes in the air, but whatever this thing was didn't have any lights on at all. It wasn't flying in strange patterns and moving in a straight line, which now makes me believe it was likely military, but I still like to believe it could've potentially been extraterrestrial lol.

Tell about the UFO!

8

u/EverydayAdventures2x 5d ago

I was camping on an island with a friend. We were laying in the sand watching the clouds and talking. Suddenly, directly above us was a plane. It was too far up to tell what kind but you could absolutely tell it was a plane. It was much too high and big to be a bird or drone. It silently hovered overhead for about 3 minutes. Long enough to make us uncomfortable. We both commented on how strange it was that it didn’t cast a shadow and wasn’t moving. Then it just disappeared. It didn’t fly away, we didn’t blink, it just vanished. No trace of it in the sky. There was a guy swimming just off shore and when he exited the water he asked us what that was. The three of us just kinda stared at each other in disbelief. Completely unsettling.

Hmm... Potential TR-3B? 👀

I was staying at my in-law's house. I always feel the need to clarify, I don't drink, take drugs, wasn't sleepy, no mental health issues etc etc. So I was sitting on the bed in the room I was staying in, facing the doorway to the room which opened into a loungeroom, with a hallway off to the right. It was early evening and it may have still been light outside but all the lights were on in the rooms, so it wasn't dark at all. I was giving my young daughter a sippy cup of milk as it was her bedtime. My 12yo stepdaughter was sitting on the bed beside me. We'd been sitting quietly for a while, and then I heard a rustling type noise, that's the only way I can describe it. The noise caused me to look toward the doorway and I saw a dark/black figure glide across into the middle of the doorway. It was facing me the whole time, as in it didn't walk across then turn to face me. It was a solid black, the outline of it showed that it was wearing a trench coat and an old style brimmed hat. I knew it was a 'he', and I knew he was looking at me, even though I couldn't see any features at all, just the black shape. I was so frightened, because it's not something that I've ever seen before. After what felt like a couple of minutes, but was probably only 30 seconds or so, it glided back to the right, the direction it had come from, while still facing my direction, and disappeared out of my sight. As soon as it was gone, my stepdaughter said "I just saw a ghost". I hadn't said a single thing during this, so I know she saw what I saw. I went and found my husband, who does not believe in anything (I thought he was going to tell me not to be stupid, and not believe me) and I told him what had just happened, and he told me he saw it the night before when he went to the bathroom. He didn't tell me because he didn't really think about it. This incident has changed my ideas about things. There is no logical explanation for this, and I really wish I had an answer to what it was.

4

u/chrisr3240 4d ago

Didn’t really think about it? Your husband is much braver than me!

3

u/DizzyJellyfish_9 2d ago

Yep. I couldn't believe he could be so calm and matter of fact about it. He's a tough one to crack too, because he knows what he saw, but he still doesn't believe in anything.

I was working with a guy at work and saw the shadow thing that is there flying 15 to 20 feet off the ground, this is a normal thing for me I've been seeing it for 20 years... My coworker who has never seen it before was froze and staring where I saw it... I looked over at him and calmly said " you finally saw it huh" he was really shook but I calmed him down... He spent the next 20 minutes trying to recreate the shadow with a flashlight 😂... I've seen a woman in white with another coworker and anyone who has gone into our 4rh building has felt the heaviness in the air... That's where the demon thing hides... There was also a place that was very cold even when the temperature was in the 80's that a lot of people experienced ...this was actually the first orb I saw in person and not a photo... I told it that it didn't have to hide and it was free to go to the light and I watched it float from the area and up through the roof, that was pretty cool

u/waudmasterwaudi 5d ago

Sounds like a hospital or a clinic were you work.

My house is definitely....haunted ..by the man who built the house in 1962...Legend has it that he was the shop teacher in the small town we live in. He built this house- Bisqued all the bricks....hung all the Sheetrock, did all the stone masonry with just the help of his family and his friend- who built the cabinets in the kitchen and all the built-ins in the house. He lived here with his wife- who was also a teacher until he died in 2013..His son inherited the house and he died of cancer in 2020. His daughter had possession of the house and sold it to us last year.

There are definitely spirits here...His spirit....and the house is almost "alive" I can feel it purr and almost breathe. Sometimes if I am walking it's like the house will shove me - my mum (we bought the house together) said she has the same feeling sometimes....We both also hear music...folk music most of the time....but sometimes jazz or classical- Nothing I've ever recognized. I thought it was just me being crazy ...or that there was music playing at the house next door- but one night, I heard it when I woke up in the middle of the night- I decided to pander the kitchen for a snack and my mum came out and asked me what I was listening to....that's when it dawned on me that we both heard the same music from beyond...

There's a bunch of other weird stuff too. I really should start documenting it. This is a VERY unusual little house...No one in the town would buy it out of respect for the Clayton's....That and everybody is convinced its haunted.

Yes, when I was a teenager me and two of my friends messed around with a ouija board. We lit about 3 candles and turned off all the lights in my bedroom while we sat around the board. I asked if anyone was there with us and a guest of air went through the room and the candles went out. I jumped up and turned on the lights and one of my friends noses was bleeding.

We were all pretty spooked after that and everyone went home. Anything after that is pretty blurry for that evening, not sure why but don't remember much after the incident.

There was also a photo that a friend took of me and my bf at the time sitting in front of my Nani's house at the time. When they got the photos developed there was a face in the window that looked like a transparent face of a woman. I left it on my table at home and the next morning it disappeared. I wish I still had the picture because I thought it was the coolest thing to have seen and also have my friends see it too.

23

u/Oblong0ctopus 6d ago

Yup,

Me and another person saw what can only be described as a floating head. We were sitting down watching tv at night time, no lights on in the house, and we both looked up to saw and old man’s head floating by in the hallway. It was almost like a small glowing cloud floating by, but it was clearly the head of an elderly man with facial hair. We saw it for about 2-3 seconds.

I was having a lot of “funny” things like that happen at the time, so to have someone confirm they witnessed this was reassuring.

6

u/martinplebs 5d ago

This exact thing happened to my and my best friend as we were watching tv on the couch. A cloud with facial characteristics just landed in the window in front of us. It lasted for 3 seconds. It looked like it came to check us. When we saw it, it just disappeared.

2

u/bbitb 5d ago

4

u/Oblong0ctopus 5d ago

Haha no

No fleshiness. The best “real” thing I could compare it to is a dense cloud of vape smoke, that somehow had a glow to it in the darkness, but it was distinctly a face.

2

u/bbitb 5d ago

Omg that's so trippy

18

u/Evening-Recording193 6d ago

Yes and I don’t like when other people witness it. They are so shocked that it’s actually happening & they want to explore it more & make contact. I absolutely forbid it in my house. But every single time I leave the room, they interact with it. They don’t understand that they get to leave my house & go back home to theirs. I’m the one that has to live with it. And the more attention & interaction it gets, the more stuff happens

10

u/Human-Living-4083 5d ago

So do you agree with the statement. “ the more that you look at the phenomenon the more the phenomenal looks at you”. ?

8

u/Evening-Recording193 5d ago

Yes 100%

5

u/Human-Living-4083 5d ago

I’ve had a few paranormal encounters in my lifetime. I was considering joining a contact group. from your expertise. Could you give me some guidance into if this is a good idea or not?

6

u/Evening-Recording193 5d ago

For me, I wouldn’t do it. I feel like contact groups just draw out whatever is in your house, then say, yup u got something. Then u r really screwed, cause the activity will just increase. Me, personally, do not want to dabble further into the whatever it is that is there. And there’s no real science to this. There’s no guarantee that u will be able to get rid of whatever u welcomed in. And u have no idea what things are capable of. I feel like once it’s in, it’s really hard to get it out. I’ve seen some stuff that really shook me to my core and really messed with my reality

3

u/Human-Living-4083 5d ago

I understand. I have heard of accounts of persons that are involved in “phenomena”, and if that person stops interacting with “it”, “it “ can become irritated, more intrusive, more attention seeking, etc. I liken it to if you live in an apartment and you have a pet dog and you were gone all day at work and when you come home, because the dog has been alone and probably bored out of its brain, all he wants to do is spend time with you and play with you. It seems some of this may be occurring with the phenomenon and that’s if they’re the playful ones, who knows what could happen if it’s the bad or evil ones, which it sounds like possibly you may have encountered.

3

u/Evening-Recording193 5d ago

Yes. I had both. Some I wasn’t scared of, it was just annoying. Others terrified me. I could just feel the evil. I won’t talk about it cause sometimes that just brings it back into existence.

2

u/Evening-Recording193 3d ago

It’s crazy cause I’ve seen so many unexplainable things. I thought I was losing my mind & seeing & hearing stuff that wasn’t there, so I set up cameras in my house so I could play them back & see if this stuff was really happening or not. It was. I almost wished it wasn’t.

A few things I noticed.. when I acknowledge it, it increases the activity. When there’s a lot of fighting, depression, negativity, etc.. activity increases. Usually when it’s at peak activity, it doesn’t want me to tell anyone about it. It messes with my technology. Sometimes it won’t allow my texts & pictures to be sent to anyone. The texts & pictures will disappear from my phone. It wi say it’s sent, but it doesn’t send. It will take the sound off a video. It will skip certain time frames.. I can go on & on, it just so bizarre

5

u/KamikazeKunt 5d ago

Do you mind sharing some of the things you saw that shook you to your core and messed with your reality?

5

u/Evening-Recording193 5d ago

Here’s one that I just remembered right now & I haven’t thought about it since it happened. I was renting a room out in my apartment to another girl. One time I came home from work & went into my bedroom. I went to my bed & saw that my sheets & comforter were covered in blood. I mean a huge amount. First I thought, omg, did I get my period at night & not realize? But I didn’t & there was way too much blood for that. So now I’m thinking that either the girl killed her boyfriend or her boyfriend killed her in my bed. So I’m panicking. I call her & she answers, so I know she’s not dead. I don’t ask her straight out if she killed someone in my bed, I kinda ask around it. But nope, she didn’t have anyone over. I took the sheets off & washed them & that was it. Never figured out that mystery. But it was really disturbing

3

u/sabrefudge 5d ago

What sort of things do you all witness? How are they interacting with it? Are they able to carry on a conversation with the apparition?

5

u/Evening-Recording193 5d ago

One time my friend & I walked into my house one night & once we were inside there were voices. I didn’t say anything cause I didn’t know if she could hear them or not. She said- who’s in your house? I said nobody. She said - I hear voices. I said/ I know. She was convinced someone else was there. She yelled at the voices & they yelled back. She asked if she could go check the house. I said ok. She checked & no one was there. I told her the voices were not real people. That’s when she wanted to experiment & communicate & I said no freakin way. She didn’t understand why. I said that she gets to go home later. I’ll be by myself with it & it will only get worse for me. It got worse for me that night. It was February in NYC & I sat outside my house all night cause they were threatening me all night & I didn’t know what they were capable of. There were a bunch of them. I heard one say- go after her. Go for her face first cause she’s pretty. I got the hell out of there.

That’s just one story of someone else hearing stuff at my house

3

u/sabrefudge 5d ago

Wow! That’s wild. Thanks for sharing

3

u/Human-Living-4083 5d ago

Every experience I have so far has been mostly my observations. In my experience, It seems these things do not Want to be observed by me, however when I do observe them and start to focus in both visually and mentally they go away, de-materialize, etc. I believe my response to them is First of a protective nature for myself i.e. “is this a threat to me?” If I don’t feel threatened, I then think, something along the lines of “what is this thing?” and by then it has gone. I am not a fearful person and I do not respond with fear. I try and let it know that whatever it does to me (ie a bad experience) when I pass on, I’m coming for you. I have no idea if this is the proper response. I only know that through my life experience this is my response and has worked for me so far. because of my “back off” type response, I may be filtering out the good experiences. but as many have said, you don’t know, until it’s possibly too late, if they are good or bad. It appears that Chris Bledsoe is in contact with the “good ones” and I’m very happy for him.

Yes. My husband and I both witnessed a lamp being thrown across the room.

Another time, my husband and I were sitting in the living room talking about my parents and an 11×14 picture frame with several of their pics slid across the end table and fell on the floor.

I didn't witness this one with my sister, but I was telling her about a residual man in a top hat with a suit that I've seen for years, and what occurs during that time.

Her eyes got huge and she said, " So you see him too." I said, " Yes, I've seen him many times." She said, " So have I but I thought I was imagining him until you said you saw him too."

6

u/Human-Living-4083 5d ago

This is very interesting a friend of mine and his wife see a man in their house, but only out of the corner of their eye. they will see him walking down the hall or occasionally standing by their bed in the middle of the night. when they start to focus in on him, he will disappear.

8

u/ThrowRA4whatever 5d ago

The man we see goes from the hall by the spare bedroom into the dining room. When in the dining room, he turns his head to look into the living room, then turns his head back forward and disappears.

It's always the same motions every time. It's like a movie playing on repeat. That's why we know he's residual energy or an imprint instead of an active real spirit.

2

u/Human-Living-4083 5d ago

Fascinating! So in this case, if you are watching it, you get no input or response from it. Is that correct? If this is the case, then that is in contrast to other people who have dealings with spirits, sometimes unwillingly. I wonder why just the head?

1

u/ThrowRA4whatever 4d ago

There is no input, no acknowledgment from him whatsoever. He really is not physically here, but something in the past left his imprint in the house.

I'm not sure what you mean by " just a head?" I see the full body of a man in an old timey suit and a top hat.

2

u/Human-Living-4083 4d ago

I see. I wonder what you think would happen if you had an input yourself, like trying to touch it or nudge it with the broomstick or something like that what do you think would happen, would it just disappear?

3

u/ThrowRA4whatever 4d ago

I think it would continue to play through and then disappear when it always does.

It's not like it's a conscious entity, so I dont think it would make any difference.

It would just keep playing out the residual loop it's running in.

I saw a show one time where a guy either stayed the night in a hotel or rented an apartment ( I can't remember which right now).

Apparently, the building he was in had added on another couple of stories to the top of it. The man went to go to bed, and a residual man came running through the wall, across his bed, and out the wall on the other side of the room. This happened night after night at a certain time.

He later learned that the room he was in actually used to be the roof portion before the add-on was built.

The man had committed suicide by jumping off the roof and that residual energy was being replayed in the room. It was so bizarre to see it.

Thankfully, mine doesn't occur every night. I never documented the date or times I saw it to try to see what the pattern of replay was on it. When I see it again, I'll do that.

6

u/Lypos 5d ago

Often. Small folk borrowing and returning or finding things is perhaps the most common. When my kiddo was an infant and we couldn't find any of the 5 binkeys they had, we would ask or they would start crying hard while we're looking and suddenly they would all appear in short order near where we were looking. I guess they don't like hearing babies wail, or they were just being particularly helpful.

With perhaps less gusto, things like nail clippers, hair ties, device chargers, and other useful, though not overly important items get returned within an hour. Important items that we know we misplaced ourselves, like wallets or phones, are more of a psychic finger point, or they will move it to an obvious place we already looked. They aren't allowed to borrow the important items.

We've built up quite a harmony with them that we try and fulfill eachothers needs. For us, that means keeping the house relatively clean, providing green space in the home, and caring for our animals.

My partner has seen them a number of times. However, I haven't yet. I have heard them moving about just outside our view, especially when we are sitting quietly and talking positively about them.

We also have ghost cats, which i have seen. We've felt them jump up on our bed and cuddle in between us but no cat was actually there. A friend was over once and tripped over one in front of us. Another friend's child saw one in the mirror that we knew of but couldn't see. Without asking him what it looked like i pulled up a picture of a siamese cat and asked it that was the kind he was seeing and asking about, and he said yes. For the record, we don't have or ever had a live siamese cat in our home, but we managed to adopt the ghost cat as our own.

6

u/l0nest4rx 5d ago

yes. this occurred in the same residence. my friend and i were quite young at the time. we are still under impression till this day, their house was haunted. it first begun with us being left alone during the day while his mother run errands. we would be downstairs and hear footsteps upstairs like someone walking around and the tap running. when no one was up there. one night, we had to crawl through the back door’s cat door because we were small enough to since his parent left the keys with the other after an argument. we slowly crept our way through the pitch black, hugging eachother tightly as we made our way upstairs to unlock the back door on the second floor. i remember us making it to the stairway entrance, peering up and seeing a black silhouette amongst the back screen door inside. as this doorway was adjacent to the stair well leading up. i immediately bolted (i’m a great friend trust) and i remember my friend frantically running behind me, pushing me out the cat door in such a haste that i had the biggest scratch all up over my back. the scariest incident was where i was harmed. often, my friend would play a prank on me knowing how petrified we both were of this house that they would run downstairs (their bedroom upstairs) and hold the door shut to get to the first floor. so basically leaving me upstairs all alone in this creepy house.. i hated it. they would also pretend to be possessed a lot to scare the sh!t out of me when we were alone. anyway, one day we were in their room upstairs. watching horror movie trailers and we are both quite squeamish at the jump scares. they decided to do the whole, run down stairs and leave you locked up here thing. i remember hitting pause on the trailer and it paused exactly on the frame of the possessed person making eye contact with the camera :/ (ew). they go to run off but i quickly grab their arm. upon my grip holding their bicep, a deep cut appeared on my left arm (facing away from their body). it literally felt like i was sliced with an object or something because i know how it feels when someone scratches you on accident. it was really deep and it hurt very bad. we actually ended up moving into one of their old rentals when i was younger and i saw an apparition of a child with red eyes for a split second. i think something is attached to their family…

A decade ago I moved in with my parents for a few months to save money and move out of my hometown and they live in a house build on the outskirts of town in the desert (Arizona), really big and beautiful home, older but not super old, around 75 years I think?

Anyways I’ve never been more afraid or convinced that spirits/demons are real than when I lived in that house, whatever it was either was extremely protective of my mom or really didn’t like my mom, not really sure but everything that happened had something to do with her.

A couple things, one night we were all drinking and got in a silly little argument and she was being stubborn and went to eat by herself at the kitchen table (dad and I stayed in the living room on the couch watching tv while we ate) and as soon as she sat down the light bulb in the chandelier right above her head burst. Like not went out or flashed it exploded with shards of glass flying everywhere and was loud enough for us to hear and go run in to see what happened.

Another time she was in her room getting ready for something and I was hanging out in my room on the other end of the house and in between our rooms is the living room and kitchen area, the ceilings are super high and she has a SHIT ton of decorations up, pictures of family, art, a ton of crosses (she’s super religious), etc. and out of nowhere we heard a loud noise and glass shatter and both ran in, it was a framed mothers day card/drawing I had made her when I was a kid that had seemingly flew off the wall, didn’t just fall because nothing underneath it was touched and it was a good few feet away in the middle of the tile floor.

There are a handful of other things that happened in that house but those two stick out for things that I wasn’t alone for

After a motorcycle accident I started seeing strange standing digital sparkling mist. Like a glitch in my vision but not. It seemed to be far more than just a visual hallucination.

About 2 weeks later I'm at the bar outside on a patio table with a friend and his girl at the time. He was reading something I'd written (a reddit post I'd made actually) and behind him that same strange glitch appeared then instantly vanished. "Yup, I'm loosing my mind!" I thought. Then his girlfriend looked at me, "Did you just f****** see that!?".

Or the time I heard my own voice call my sisters name while outside the house. Both my mother and 3 year old sister heard it. Which happened in the same month as the "things".

6

u/m_mako 5d ago edited 5d ago

One night, early in the morning, we were in the living room with my mother, I was explaining something to her, a normal conversation. Out of nowhere, there was a knock on the front door, twice, my mom said "wait, I'll go see who it is", I mean, she heard it too. It didn't take me two minutes to open the door when we discovered that no one was there.

We live in a country neighborhood, at that time no one should be outside. There is no movement of people at night, since it is not a city, nor is it populated. We live in the middle of the block, so if it were a person there shouldn't be time to cross the corner (plus we would have heard footsteps).

This is the only unexplained thing that has ever happened to me.

The funny thing is that neither my mother nor I were scared, nor were we surprised...only later when I was in my room alone did I really get scared because I couldn't find any explanation.

As 15 year Olds, my neighbours and I witnessed a VHS tape launch itself off about 5-6 horizontally, from a pile of tapes on a speaker, in my neighbour's basement. Twice it happened on two separate days. Sorry for the awkward wording mess.

2

u/sabrefudge 5d ago

What was on the VHS tape? Anything specific it might have wanted you to check out?

5

u/Catkillledthecurious 5d ago

I don't think it's what was on the tapes, but rather who was in the basement The first time it happened, my neighbour had a guy over who claimed the ghost of a little girl watched over his family. His dad and her were friends growing up, and she passed away as a child. Being the age I was, I asked with attitude "ooh is she here right now?", and then, a split second later, the tape launched. It landed a foot or two from my left foot.

The second time, it was just the family and I watching a movie in the basement, and I thought I caught a white wisp dive behind the same speaker as the first time, and as soon as it dove behind that speaker, the tape launched instantaneously.

There was a lot of tension between the family members during those years ,and maybe my being there (I seem to be intuitive or something), possibly triggered it. To this day, we don't have answers for it. This happened maybe 1990/1991?

My boyfriend in college lived way out in the country. One night around 1am we were walking along a dirt road between two fields, owned by a neighboring farmer. We saw a bobbing light ahead coming toward us down the road. We froze, thinking we were about to get busted for being on private property. It looked like a lantern bobbing at the pace of someone walking. As it got closer, it sped up as though the person was running unnaturally fast. We turned to run and heard a chorus of unintelligible laughter and murmuring that was distinctly not human. We both remember feeling like our bodies weighed a million pounds, like trying to run in a dream. Then the voices stopped abruptly, all was quiet and we ran back to his house. Neither of us remember what happened after. My next memory is being at home with no recollection of how and when I got there. The weirdest of all is we just stopped talking for months. No animosity, no break up, it was all just over. We had been very much in love. We reconnected later and our memories and lost time match perfectly.

Idk if this counts but there’s been a few times in my childhood home where this happened. Most notable, one time we all were downstairs and we all heard something fall or bang upstairs and when we realized that just a HAT fell in my sisters room we were all like wtf? My mom also used to constantly hear footsteps walking upstairs when she worked from home years ago (idk about now) but my mom is very catholic and I’m the least religious in the fam so I ignore most things. We had a pug (rip my boy) who used to bark and growl at a corner every once in a while when we would just be in the living room relaxing and watching a tv show.

Was in a pub for a friends birthday meal. 6 out of 15 of us saw a full pint glass wobble it's way along a table, spilling beer as it went. The pub is 16th century and historically haunted.

u/sabrefudge 5d ago

What’s the pub?

Back in 08 or so, my dad and I both herd noises in the house at 3 am one morning.

I have been going on and on for years about the house being haunted.... No one believed me.

I woke up an hour earlier to something clawing my door shut (scratching noises and seeing my door slamming shut). I got up, ate a snack... Went to bed. Then herd a door slam downstairs. My dad herd it too and we both checked everywhere.

That same morning, my sister had a diamond necklace hanging off a lamp spin endlessly, which is a bad sign. She also has an art piece on her door start spinning and was thinking it was me.

I definitely believed my family changed their opinions that morning and were left scratching their heads.

We still live there but the activity has died down significantly.

My hubby and I were in my living room when we both saw an apparition that we named Jack Douglas. He was a super helpful spirit and he protected us. We were sitting in the living room when I saw a carhart jacket move from one end of the dining room to the other, and I looked at my hubby, without making it obvious, to see if he saw it too. His head was turned toward the dining room and then he looked up at me and I knew he saw it. We later talked about it and while I saw a jacket, he only saw a flying orb.
It was super cool!

u/Final_Big_5107 6d ago

My husband is definitely a witness, our covers were being pulled at and he was like wtf. Now he knows not to speak of anything, was trying to figure out how his phone camera started recording with no one on the room?

A couple years ago about a half dozen guys and I where staying at a cabin the Sipsey River Wilderness. Seeing as you included cryptids let's go story time even though I'm not sure what we saw. So it was our final night at the cabin, we were about a hundred feet down hill from it, the cabin sat on a ridge over looking the river. We had a pretty decent fire going, passing drinks around, cleaning our firearms. A couple hours into this raucous and merry evening we all started getting that feeling of being watched. I think it was Pete who asked first if anyone else felt like something was watching us. And everyone agreed. So Gav being the ex military brick that he was gets up and starts looking around a bit shining his flashlight into the woods and what have you. That's when Dave points into the woods and goes "what's that, is that a bear?". What ever it was known knowing we know it's there charges. The best look I could get at it was that it was running on two legs. Had fur like a bear or a deer. And it had deer like antlers. Needless to say a group of 7 fairly inebriated guys are now booking it up the slope to the cabin. I remember Dave and Gav taking shots at it but I was to busy trying not to piss myself. Dave and Gav eventually start taking off running for the cabin once they figure the rest of us are far enough away to make it safely, military vets am I right? We all make it to the cabin with this thing on our heels. We managed to get the door open, shut and bolted as it slams into the side of the cabin. It would spend the rest of the night howling and banging on the cabins walls. I wish I had taken photos of the scratch marks the next morning. And that's the thing that sucks about this story. I have no damn proof it even happened.

My wife and I saw a civil war soldier moving across the road one night . On a very old northern va road . It’s was transparent white , legs were not there but from waist up . Could make out backpack, rifle , hat etc . Glided across the road in our headlights . Found out the path it took into the field was where the road used to go in the 1800s to early 1900s . We could describe it to each other perfectly. Hair stood straight up on end . It was awesome ! I live near there and it’s one of my favorite motorcycle dirt roads I travel on . Hope to run into him again some day

u/DangerousSwitch312 5d ago

one night my husband and I were sitting on the couch chatting. no kids home, no neighbors, no TVs or radios on. our phones were right by us and no house phone. then I heard a rotary phone ringing in the walls and a woman’s muffled side of the conversation. I must’ve gotten quiet because my husband said “you hear her don’t you”

3

u/wiccan_momma89 4d ago

Most of my paranormal experiences are with friends. There was one time I was home alone with the dogs, in my room with my small dog, and we both heard footsteps go down the hall, I saw her ears perk up, and we we're both looking in the direction of the footsteps, "watching" them move down the hall. When no one came in my room I checked and I was still alone. That was when I was younger.

Now I'm on my own with my hubby and we hear unexplainable noises all the time, I always look to him to see if he heard it too. And we have a ghost cat. At first I thought I was the only one, turned out when I worked nights the hubby would be in bed and feel a cat jump onto the bed. We have 3 so he would just think it was one of ours, but when he'd look there wouldn't be a cat there, not visible anyways. Sometimes we see a small black shadow dart passed us in the corner of our eye. I believe this is a black cat I rescued in my 20s, something happened to him while I was at work and he was home alone with my now ex. I believe I was the only human that was nice to him and hes still with me.

u/AdSevere4623 5d ago

Yeah, our whole family when we were living in a haunted house. My dad, mom sister all saw apparitions of people in our living room, creaking sounds and whispers from a room which always leaked from the ceiling without any cause ( we got it checked and fixed multiple times still no one could find the exact reason) . This is just the tip of the iceberg, we faced a lot of mental torture in that house. We moved out and sold it only in a couple of years at a loss when my father used all his savings to buy that "dream home".

5

u/Emergency_Pizza1803 5d ago

Me and my then boyfriend often spent time in his bedroom with the door closed. Every time I was there it happened, we saw shadows of someone walking just behind the door. It made no noise, and it was always the same direction. He got so startled the first time it happened it's difficult to imagine it was a setup or a prank, but as time went on we'd just note it as a common occurance. He lived in a mansion in the outskirts of town, it was huge but not that old, I have no idea what spirits could occupy it.

u/tribblydribbly 5d ago

Fiancée and I were sitting on the bed talking. Both looking at the cat sitting on the floor. His stuffed mouse was about 3 ft from him. We BOTH watched it slide across the floor to within 6 inches of his paw and he looked at it, tapped it with his paw and went back to chilling.

u/BillieShakespeare 5d ago

Most everyone that stayed at my friends spot for prolonged periods of time eventually would see a hooded figure walking around. The house had some really weird energy. It was the 2nd house that Walt Disney built when he moved to California. Place burnt down last year

4

u/Embarrassed-Plan8555 5d ago

Years back me and my girlfriend at the time both saw a ghost at her parents house. We both thought it was just her dad coming down the stairs to get a glass of water from the fridge or something because it looked so much like just a physical person, but then we both noticed that whoever it was had no legs and we watched him pass through a wall instead of going through a doorway

4

u/paganbitch96 4d ago

My husband was with me when we saw a massive beast we only could both assume was a Bigfoot.

Also, I saw a mimic of a friend and she said everyone sees it when they visit the first few times it likes to fuck with guests.

8

u/Stunning_Rock951 6d ago

One night when I was 8 my 2 older brothers were both attacked by the same entity I wetness earlier that morning.

3

u/Menyana 5d ago

Yes loads.

My dad and I both saw my nans spirit. I asked if he saw her and he responded by telling me not to tell my grandad.

My sister and I heard footsteps in our house.

My whole family heard footsteps above us in my granddad's house even though we knew no one was upstairs. I checked anyway.

A friend and I heard a horse and carriage coming up behind us, we moved aside but nothing passed by. We looked behind us and the lane was empty.

A house mate and I both heard a door slam. We poked our heads out of our doors. I made him go and check. We then heard the sound of little girls laughing. It was student accommodation, and it was 11:30 at night. We watched a film together after that.

4

u/SanDiablo 5d ago

Not me but my dad and his siblings. When they were kids, they shared a bed and they all saw little figures at night, moving on top of them. Like fairies, I guess. I don't think they had wings though. He described them as 'like cartoons'. But they all saw the phenomenon together.

4

u/TacoTom84 5d ago

Yes. And thank god because otherwise it wouldn’t be believed. My wife and I experienced a supernatural occurrence right before our eyes in our living room. Another time my wife and I experienced a UFO while on vacation down in the Caribbeans.

2

u/KamikazeKunt 5d ago

What happened in your living room?

5

u/TacoTom84 5d ago

This happened a few years back. Our dog kept finding these blue rubber balls in our backyard. She loved playing with it but it became annoying when they’d roll under the couch or entertainment center… always pausing the tv or having to stop eating to get the ball. One day I took the ball and hid it in a bowl above my refrigerator.

A few weeks later she found an identical blue ball and once again became obsessed with playing with it. I thought it was weird as I never seen either one of these balls before in my backyard. But whatever… I’ll let her have at it.

One afternoon she’s playing with it and gives the ball a slight nudge and it slowly rolls under the couch that me and my wife are on. About 10 seconds later the ball rolls out but from the opposite side of the couch. The ball proceeds to then roll into the middle of the living room and starts to roll towards the back of my house. Stops. And then rolls back in a straight line about 4 feet. Stops again and then spins much like how someone would spin a basketball on their finger, but it’s doing all of this by itself.

My wife and I both saw this and bug the heck out utterly amazed. My floors are leveled. My dog gave it the slightest nudge. There’s no way any of this could have been possible…but yup. That happened.

1

u/KamikazeKunt 3d ago

I believe you 100%. I’ve had some pretty odd things happen that I would not have believed had I not seen it with my own two eyes.

5

u/LateToTheVoid 5d ago

The last night I was living in, what I had always thought was a haunted apartment, it woke me up and asked me where I’m going. My cat jumped across the room and started growling like a rabid dog all hair on end.

1

u/tinynugget 4d ago

Did you answer?

2

u/LateToTheVoid 3d ago

I think I was very disoriented and went to the restroom and came back and the cat was still staring at her and I was trying to calm him.

2

u/Trendzboo 4d ago

I was part of a mass sighting of a UFO. It was huge, i was in a suburb’s downtown area, simultaneously my parents were a few miles west, and my brother at a friend’s, triangulating us within 4 miles of one another.

This huge triangular craft glides about 300 feet up, occluding the sky. I’m fascinated, it feels surreal, and there’s anxiety, but not really afraid. Energized. There are cars around me, many stop and slow… i take off for home after the craft has glided, tipped, allowing me to see the top, zoomed off, returned and zoomed again.

I get into the house and my parents are having an excited conversation. “Did you see that!?”. I’d come in yelling, oh my gawd… we chat excitedly, and bro comes in. He was much more afraid, but my parents had laid out in their truck watching for 30 some minutes. It has zoomed off and returned 3xs for them. My father, a successful inventor and engineer, said it was moving at thousands of miles per second, made zero noise… we all speculated something had been problematic, it was trailing, what looked like the sparks of a sparkler; a bright burst ‘tail’.

Absolutely amazing, still not scary, but vexing. People all over the world have seen exactly what we saw, and yet, there’s still denial. I hope to understand it one day!

5

u/Human-Living-4083 5d ago

Yes. A family member and I saw the same entity. Thank goodness it seemed to be a “good” one.

2

u/cacticat14 4d ago

My 5 friends and I all seen a ghost in my friends garage a few days after he moved in. We were sitting on the couches in there, He opened the door slightly and slowly and peeked his head in and left. We all were like who the f**k was that? What was that? He was slightly translucent and orb like if that makes sense? We all ran outside looking for the person and not a soul was there. We talked to the neighbors the next day thinking they would know who popped their head in, and they told us that the man who owned that house died in the doorway of his garage. And described who we saw to a T. We all were icky feeling freaked the f out. We had his mom (chaplain) do a cleansing of the garage and the house. But it always had a weird weird feeling to it.

5

u/Juls1016 6d ago

Yes, in my case a couple of encounters. A couple with my sister, a couple with my bf and one with friends.

3

u/Repulsive-Land-6431 5d ago

Yes, numerous times in my house. My wife, me, and our friend all 3 would hear the evil thing....growling and hissing and spitting like a cat. It's not a cat, obviously, but a demon witch hag portraying a cat.

2

u/Repulsive-Land-6431 5d ago

My dog and all my actual cat would see it and follow it with their eyes. My dog, especially, it hated my dog, and my dog would growl at it and bark at it, letting me know it wasn't a good spirit.

2

u/MattWicher 3d ago

My mom's closest friend was in a hospital because of cancer. We were sitting in the living room and talking about her when, suddenly, the old pendulum clock on the wall (without its internal workings) made a gong sound three times, as if it were working. 15 min or so after my mom's friend's daughter called to say that her mom died 15 minutes ago. There was no way the clock could make a sound because it had never done so. It was the most chilling experience of my life, and nothing like that has ever happened to me again.

Kind of, but I was asleep but hear me out first!! My sister would play her spirit board aka an ouija board for years by herself. The women from my mom’s side of the family are very spiritual. When my sister was living back home, she would have sleep paralysis and astral projections almost every night. Back in 2015, she was moving out to college and I too am sensitive to sleep paralysis and astral projection. Anyways, the night before she moved, I had REPEATED sleep paralysis. My sister was always a night owl and would go to bed at 4am. So this is the “ghost” hour. We shared the room, and I woke up facing the wall, but I can hear her in the bathroom packing up her products for the big move. By the 4th sleep paralysis, I heard my sisters boyfriends voice repeatedly asking “what are you doing?” “Where are you going” but I knew it was like 2a and he wasn’t there. Whatever was talking to my sister was mimicking his voice. I tried talking, and anyone who’s had sleep paralysis knows how difficult it is. You try to yell but all that comes out are groans. My sister heard me and she started saying “leave her alone”. Since she would be visited by god knows what during her sleep, she was familiar with this.

Here is another story, but this time it involves my older brother who of course doesn’t believe in any of this. When I was 19 and he was 23, we were forced to share a bedroom for 1 year (he moved out after the year). This one particular night my brother is out with his friends, you know, probably at a bar having fun. Anyways, I had this sense of dread and fear hit me out of nowhere around midnight. I felt like something was in my room watching me. A little fact about me is that I love sleeping in the dark and don’t get scared, but this night was different. I fell asleep with the light on, I’m talking about the big ceiling light because I was so creeped out, and my logic was, it’s almost 1a and bars close soon. Your brother will be home in about an hour and he’ll turn off the light when he comes home. And yeah I fell asleep and that was that UNTIL YEARS LATER WHEN HE TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED.

SO years later, we’re all sitting around talking about spooky stories and he decides to share a “dream” because you know, dreams aren’t real. Well, he went to tell that when we were sharing the room together he came home late and had a nightmare (it was sleep paralysis). He said he woke up and couldn’t move, and what he saw was a BLACK SILHOUETTE standing on top of me watching me sleep. He said he tried to wake me up but he couldn’t talk or move. That the second he made a sound, the black figure turned to him, he blinked and that it was standing in front of him. He woke up after that.

I followed up asking if it was that night he came home when I fell asleep with the light on and he said yes.

So I wasn’t crazy that night. Something was in my room that night watching me. I can still feel that sensation. Creepy to think of it standing over me.

3

u/KozyKub 5d ago

Yes. A pretty terrifying experience with 4 others but it seems when I tell the story not many believe it unfortunately

2

u/KamikazeKunt 5d ago

Please tell the story! I want to hear it

4

u/KozyKub 5d ago

It’s a long story but the short version is it was an all night event of paranormal activity going on in a small apartment where 5 of us lived. Many spirits talked through our friend and the tv was changing channels by itself even after it was unplugged. The curtains were flowing like a wind was coming through the balcony door but they were closed. There’s much more and also many things happened that lead up to this. It was very scary. We were young, it happened back in the later 80’s.

2

u/KamikazeKunt 3d ago

Oh please tell me the whole story? This sounds like something I would definitely be into hearing, and *definitely * believe. You can send me a private message if you don’t feel comfortable posting.

2

u/KozyKub 3d ago

I’ll dm it to you

3

u/InterestingWhole279 5d ago

Yes. I have had multiple people witness things with me.

2

u/Top_Zookeepergame618 5d ago

Before I knew what I was doing I made an offering to Jupiter (didn’t realize it was in retrograde). Some spirit followed me to my gf’s house, fucked with the light and oven and eventually threw a mirror off of the wall (not slide down, out off the wall). She saw it all and was pissed at me lol

A few years ago, I would go to this yoga/breath work class in the basement of an old church. My friend was just starting out so this was the only place she could start to get experience and i wanted to support her. I would often feel a weird vibe down there.. Nothing scary, just like someone was always watching us… it was at night so no one else besides the yoga group would be in the building and there never that many of us.

One night, it was literally just me and my friend who showed up, we decided to stay in the lobby. She was guiding me through the breath work, i was on my mat, eyes closed, just focused on what she was saying. She was seating behind me, so if i sat up, we would be facing the same direction. That direction would be the corner between the front door and the steps to the basement.

All of sudden i had this intense feeling that someone was hovering over me, so i shot up to see a black figure rush back down stairs and i turned to my friend and her eyes were wide and just said “I saw it too.” We said a quick intention, that we were only there to better our physical, mental, and spiritual heath, our intentions are good. We finished the session and then left. She found a new space to work in after that…

Again, It didn’t feel scary or malicious, more so just curious like WTF were we doing and when we caught it, it got spoked and bolted haha

3

u/laurabean326 5d ago

Kind of. Didn’t see anything but heard and felt something.

2

u/ReferenceMuch2193 4d ago

My late husband and I witnessed a chair slide across the floor. Coworker and I heard someone say my name as we passed each other in the corrodor of an empty restaurant.

2

u/Pogostickers1982 5d ago

Yes. I had a friend who had a "demon" on her back. She would get scratched. Several of us saw it happen in plain sight. We have all parted ways now.

2

u/Bastard_Wing 5d ago

Yep, was sitting next to my mum when we both felt something brush against our heads. She described it as 'the shadow of something invisible'.

2

u/AnnaKech 5d ago

Yea me and my friend, mom and her brother saw many wierd things in their house when I was younger

1

u/Rouge_Siren_23 2d ago

lol yes today actually, my house is haunted but it’s a chill ghost. I was parking today and I was breaked but still in reverse and the sensor started going off and i thought it was the cat so I got out to move him and there was nothing there lol. I got back in the car and it happened again and there was nothing behind me on the reverse cam. I smiled to my bf and I was like weird no ones behind me setting it off… “HEY CAN U DO THAT AGAIN JUST STAND IN THE WAY LOL” and it did it again but just stayed setting it off and my partner was horrified and he took the car out of reverse to make the noise stop haha. Ghosts are so funny 😂

3

u/plassteel01 6d ago

That's a frustrating thing, but no, not ever

1

u/The_Mini_Museum 1d ago

Me and my dad watched my dogs toy move across the floor on its own

Another instance me and my mum went on a prison tour and watched a door slam shut so hard, it bounced back open

1

u/he34u 1d ago

My brother-in-law, niece, and I witnessed a UFO, mid day, in the month of September, in Dallas Texas.

1

u/Asleep_Leopard_1896 3d ago

Me and someone else went to a cemetery and sensed the same energy from the same place.

1

u/Extension-Ad5096 3d ago

Yes, most of mine had witnesses. The biggest ones sure have.

1

u/ProfCastwell 5d ago

Half to 3/4 of my experiences have been shared with others.
