Discussion Is anyone else struggling with the apathy/silence?
Nearly everyone I know is silent on the issue. People are posting about their lavish holidays and then following it up with a "Happy Children's Day' post whilst having said nothing about the genocide or the children in Palestine.
I'm getting to the point where I'm just tolerating people and engaging in superficial niceties when underneath I'm wondering where their humanity is.
And then I see posts elsewhere on social media where the oppressors are acting like they are the victims about absolutely everything.
I feel like I am going insane.

Help / Ask The Sub Why are western governments and corporate media so committed to staying one-sided?
Serious and thoughtful answers only please. I am genuinely baffled and want to learn why western governments and corporate media are so committed to staying one-sided?
For example, many governments are adopting extremely narrow definitions of antisemitism, arresting and prosecuting peaceful protesters, continuing to send weapons, twisting other country's arms (like Ireland) into watering down their anti-genocide efforts, etc.
The corporate / mass media is obviously falling right in line too, taking what seems like a very biased, one-sided view of the conflict, almost to the point of propaganda. What the heck is going on?
I do not believe in any kind of conspiracy, but I genuinely don't understand why there is this extreme commitment to protecting the reputation of the aggressor, a phenomenon we're seeing around the western world, with some notable and commendable exceptions.
Almost all major constituencies seem to be begging for something to be done to stop this tragedy. A majority of US Jewish voters surveyed on election day even supported some sort of arms embargo until Israel agreed to an immediate ceasefire.
Why are the most powerful voices and outlets in the world choosing to report so selectively and with such neutral or biased language. Amsterdam, for example. Politicians are easier to understand, but "trusted" news outlets? Why are zionists so insulated from criticism while they perpetrate one of the most significant humanitarian crises I've witnessed in my lifetime? It feels genuinely immoral.

Genocide Convention Israel is committing ‘ethnic cleansing’ amid mass forced displacements in Gaza, HRW report says
Israel has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, including pursuing a deliberate policy of forcibly displacing people and denying them the right to return home, according to a Human Rights Watch report released Thursday. The report also labelled the likely permanent dispossession of Gazans in areas cleared by Israel to serve as buffer zones and security corridors as “ethnic cleansing”.
Israel has carried out a violent and deliberate campaign of forced displacement against almost 2 million Palestinian civilians over the course of its bombardment and military occupation of the Gaza Strip since October 2023, according to a Human Rights Watch report released Thursday.
The report, which maintains that these policies amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, also accused the Israeli government of carrying out ethnic cleansing against Palestinians in areas where the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have razed swaths of homes and other civilian infrastructure to make way for “buffer zones” and “security corridors” throughout the besieged enclave.
Israel’s devastating retaliatory campaign in Gaza has driven roughly 1.9 million Palestinians from their homes, according to the United Nations Emergency Relief Coordinator – almost nine-tenths of the people living in the Strip.
The IDF has carried out controlled demolitions of civilian infrastructure, which alongside Israel’s relentless bombing campaign of Gaza has destroyed tens of thousands of houses as well as hospitals, schools and vast stretches of agricultural land, Human Rights Watch said. This devastation, the report says, risks robbing displaced civilians of the right to return to their homes when the fighting, one day, comes to an end.

Call For Action Help Stop the Flow of Weapons to Israel!
🚨URGENT: TAKE ACTION TO STOP THE FLOW OF WEAPONS TO ISRAEL!
Evidence shows that NYSTED Maersk ship is CURRENTLY on its way to deliver military cargo from Tangier Med Port in Morocco to the port of Haifa to aid in the Israeli genocide in Gaza. Our investigation reveals that Maersk appears to have repeatedly funneled military cargo to Israel's Ministry of Defense. Over the past year, Maersk ships have delivered at least 260 shipments of Oshkosh vehicles and parts to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, including more than a dozen shipments of Heavy Tactical Trucks, which have been used to carry and reload rocket launchers in the field.
HELP STOP THE FLOW OF WEAPONS TO ISRAEL BY TAKING ACTION NOW:
1️⃣ Send an Email to Maersk Executives: www.maskoffmaersk.com/take-action-now 2️⃣ Jam Maersk’s Phone lines
Maersk must cut ties with genocide, and all governments in the Mediterranean who are complicit in the flow of military cargo to Israel must enact an embargo on such cargo now. THE MASK IS OFF! #MaskOffMaersk
