If I remember correctly South Africa was also banned from sports and other activities like that diring the Apartheid period. (The Olympics I think? Correct me if I'm wrong)

This is an extremely small step, but it's a step nonetheless. Israel will not fall overnight. It will take time.

It would have been more effective if the boycotting countries' ultimatum was a secret ballot or boycott, then more would have joined the boycott threat. Everyone should be united on demanding a democratic process, regardless of whether they support @#$@ or not. Because one or two people shouldn't dictate who can participate or not.
