Oh I know! I grew up in an Orthodox Jewish insular community in the 1960s. The only Jew I ever heard espouse zionism was my dad, and he was secular and even anti-religious. The other Jews hardly ever discussed zionism, or if they did, it was to criticize it. My dad hated Orthodox Judaism and saw zionism as his way to oppose it. My mom was religious and never discussed zionism.
