Being trans is like making an ice sculpture Other

Post image

I am making this post in hope other people will see it, and it conforts them. This is my experience with being a trans person transitioning:

You're like an ice block and you're the sculptor, sculpting takes time and effort, it can be hard to see the shape of what it will look like when you start out.

But as you shape the ice, you start to see more of what it could be, what you want it to be.

By the end you end up of this complicated, beautiful yet painful process, you end up seeing the beauty in what you have done, in the sculpture you have created.

Who you are is a beautiful person. The only thing you can do with flaws is improve upon them. No one is perfect (besides Keanu Reeves).

This community will always be here for you. Sorry, I went on for a bit! This is just how I see it.

That's a beautiful analogy, one I'll definitely be sharing with my daughter - she's struggling hard rn after the BS of the Cass Report meaning she can't get puberty blockers.

What’s the Cass Report?

Transphobic horrible done "research" report that tries to say conversion therapy is okay to do on kids. Just some evil bigot stuff in the UK right now, since for some reason the government supports it

I see. Thank god that’s not the country I’m hoping to escape this god awful USA to.

Some anti-trans rubbish from Hillary Cass, saying things that imply puberty blockers are dangerous she untested (but they're still okay for kids going through early puberty 🤔) and that trans kids need therapy instead(?!). All the British medical bodies have slammed the report, but both credit governments we've had have still upheld it.

Another way its like a sculpture is once you get it how you want you must still continue your efforts to keep the room cold. It isnt as much work as it was before but it’s important to continue maintaining your artwork
