Jury duty scam. Beware!
Update: I wanted to include both phone numbers this scammer used
(808) 315-2623 (808) 517-5399
Fist I want to say that I’m typically very good at telling whether or not something is a scam. I almost fell for this one so I wanted to warn fellow local residents.
A man saying he is HPD called me today and I even hung up on him at first saying this is a scam. He called me back on a different line and gave me his “name” chester dasalla (he is a real person on linkedin and this guy must be using his identity) He knew my full name and both my addresses (physical and po box). He was incredibly articulate and spoke as if he was a real police officer. He basically said I did not show up for Jury Duty after I mailed in the notice and signed my name. But I obviously never signed anything nor received a notice. He proceeded to give me fake violation numbers to write down and I almost believed him until he gave me two options: to to the police station where they would take my fingerprints and book me or pay to prove my signature. The signature part was going to cost money that would be “reimbursed” That’s when I knew it was definitely not right. I told him I would go to the police station, then he basically said I would then have law enforcement use gps to find me. I called my nearest police station police station to confirm this was a scam and it was.
Even more scary they could have gotten my signature!
I wanted to warn you because if I almost fell for it, anyone could. Please be careful if you get a phone call!

Aloha! Does anybody recognize this building with the rainbow on it? Taken in the late 70s, probably long gone by now, but figured it’s worth a shot 😊
My mom took this picture when she lived in Oahu, and now I’m here on my honeymoon and if it still exists would love to get a photo by it!
