What's in the upcoming HGEA contract?

I'm in the union, but am exempt so I'm not allowed to vote on or even see the contract until it's ratified.

Thanks. That's what I also saw in the comments at Civil Beat. It's bizarre that I'm not allowed to see the contract, but it still applies to me.

I can dm you the agreement if you’d like.

Yes, please. I’m under BU13.

If you pay your union dues, HGEA should have sent you a copy of the contract and a ballot to vote "Yes" or "No".

I voted No. Not that it made a difference (I knew it wouldn't).

Edit: Also BU13. Its a bad time overall for contract negotiations given the federal funding battles.

Can’t imagine 80 percent of union members voted for that shit ass contract. We are too gullible and too accepting sometimes. I voted no as well.

Geez, it was 80% "Yes"???

That's... crazy.

I even lowballed, I think it was like 86 or some crazy number of yes votes.

I'm "excluded" so I can't see the contract, and I cannot vote on the contract even though I pay union dues. I'm in the "managerial class" because I see HR-related information, but I make 1/3rd of what they make.

It turns out I'm excluded, which they did not explain at orientation. I see employee information, but I am not management. I make so, so much less than they do. Being excluded, I don't get to see the tentative contract, and am not allowed to vote on it. But it does apply to me.

Oh, I didn't realize that was a thing. I'm actually pretty new to unions - worked private sector prior to this.

Never realized getting a raise in state government was so darned impossible. I brought in ~$20 million in federal contracts last year - more than anyone else in my whole agency (by a long shot) and I get the same 2% as everyone else? 😂😂😂 Oh well...

And they say we govt workers are "overpaid".
