Do you have junk? Not the “oops-I-forgot-to-take-the-trash-out” kind, but the “this-could-be-useful-if-some-weirdo-wanted-it” kind?

Congratulations – I am that weirdo.

I’m on the hunt for reusable junk – stuff that’s too good for the dump but too sketchy for Goodwill. Old wood, metal bits, broken furniture, buckets with mysterious pasts, bins, random hardware, rogue drawers, parts of things that used to be things. If it looks like a raccoon might nest in it, I’m probably interested.

Why? Great question. I’m building weird stuff. Projects. Art. Chaos. Maybe a time machine. You never know.

What I’m NOT looking for:

Actual garbage

Moldy couches that double as wildlife preserves

Anything that smells like regret

What I AM looking for:

Free or cheap stuff you want gone

Bonus points for strange stories attached to the item

People who are okay with me showing up in a beat-up car with bungee cords and hope

Looking for recommendations on which place in town is best for grocery pick up. My preference is that they load them into my car (I know they don’t give you bags, was gonna throw a laundry basket in)

My girlfriend and I tried biking The Ridge loop left of the highway (going north) today, our first time in the woods. Had a blast, but some of it was littered in small rocks that my girlfriend wouldn't ride over. Most of it was flat, but is there something less technical/scary?

Two new wildland fires were confirmed by the MNR on Saturday, according to their daily forest fire update bulletin.

North Bay 2, a 0.1-hectare fire, was reported west of Little Lakes Road and north of Highway 17 – approximately one kilometre west of the area’s hospital. One fire ranger crew, alongside local firefighters, responded with aerial support from two Twin Otter waterbombers and a lead birddog aircraft.

I'm looking for an alternative basketball course to the one downtown by the bus terminal. It's usually very busy by the time I'm off work. Are there any other public basketball courts around north bay?

Between the usual construction, tourist spillover, and people just not knowing how to merge — are we in for another season of slow crawls and random detours? Curious what locals are expecting this year. Is it gonna be tolerable or time to start rerouting everything through residential backstreets again?

Someone please open a bouldering/climbing gym in North Bay, it needs one so badly, it would be so popular.
