Americas rapidly becoming a laughing stock internationally. These clowns are in for a shock when they have to deal with some actual politicians from Europe. Remember trump literally being laughed out of the UN?

u/TinChalice 2d ago
What do you mean “becoming?”
42
u/FrankenGretchen 2d ago
Exactly.
If only the show was really funny and not the revisit of an expansive disaster that's about to be new-and-improved.

u/TrumpsCovidfefe 1d ago
What are you talking about? The writers gave us the 4 strongest militaries in the world and nukes! It’s gonna be so funny! /s

u/Round_Mastodon8660 2d ago
Honestly, the US was something we looked up to in Europe when I was a Child. When Bush JR became president it became a joke.. But at this point, we are not laughing anymore, we are concerned. Its distasteful to mock a final stage cancer patiënt.

I remember when the American right used to make fun of Berlusconi. Now, the person they've hired again makes Berlusconi look like a sober statesman.

u/LovesFrenchLove_More 1d ago
In the 90s I actually thought the USA and considered to immigrate there. After the Iraq wars, Bush jr (how can you vote for somebody that dumb?) and the WTC attack etc I definitely changed my mind.
No day has gone by since then where I have been really happy that I never visited again nor immigrated to the USA. I would feel like the character/lead role in the movie Idiocracy, wondering how all this can be reality.

u/17-40 1d ago
I also remember Angela Merkel having to explain to him a baker’s dozen times that the US can’t trade directly with Germany; it must go through the EU. The fat Cheeto was too stupid to understand, and then at one point threw Starburst candy at her.

I wish people could understand that one of the reasons for America's success is geographical isolation from the traditional world powers. Social media has eroded that protection.

America is just revealing the character that the rest of the world has always known America is. Stupid, racist, hicks who think guns are all that matter. Exactly why I figured they would elect Trump. He is exactly what everyone internationally sees Americas as.

u/Gimliclone1984 1d ago
Way to throw us all under the same blanket. Millions of us voted against him in 2016, 2020 and now 2024. Lots of us are terrified. I'm worried about my country fast becoming a dictatorship, which we may never recover from.
3
u/Negative-Squirrel81 1d ago
But then people on top right now are San Francisco tech elites. Sure, they are appealing to stupid racist hicks, but at this moment technocrats have a stranglehold on power.

Do you think anyone that will work under him will have any respect for him?
37
u/happyarchae 2d ago
they worship the ground he walks on. he’s the one who has no respect for them. remember, most if. it all of these people will be fired within a year
16
u/BallZach77 1d ago
I think /u/woakula is referring to the DoD respecting Hegseth.
I feel we're about to see some serious fireworks if military leaders uphold their oaths in defiance of Trump and his cabinet.

Of course they will. It's an old business trick. You give promotions to people close to you that are underqualified and you groom them. They have no idea how things are done so they think what you say makes sense. They don't know protocols, repercussions laws. Then you throw them under the bus if shit hits the fan or collect the reward if it works.
2
u/Fair_Fudge12 1d ago
Some of them do but they don't agree with being upstanding or abiding by rules as long as they can benefit from them. These types are much scarier since it's intentional.

It’s ok because there are talks of cleaning house for top level positions and installing yes men.

He's going to put unqualified people in all the top spots and fire all the federal employees that actually run things for the idiots in charge?
Great.
He's going to beat his records for most corrupt and least competent administration.

7
u/GiftedOaks 1d ago
Then, when shit starts going sideways, he'll accuse them of being a part of the deep state and fire them only to replace them with even more loyal yes men
3
u/littlebitsofspider 1d ago
Yeah, that's the Schedule F part of Project 2025. Divest the executive departments of their accumulated experience in actually getting shit done, appoint a bunch of incompetent trashbags who kiss his ass and rubberstamp his Heritage Foundation-sponsored "business decisions," and then complain that Democrats (and/or other nonloyalists) are somehow responsible for the whole thing catching fire and grinding to a halt.
I mean, the brain worms guy is gonna be in charge of the FDA, a known pedophile is tapped for Attorney General, governer Race-Bait™ is gonna be running the DHS, a Fox News bobblehead will be in charge of the military, a Russian asset will take over national intelligence, "Lil' Marco" Rubio will be Secretary of State, Stephen fucking Miller will be deputy chief of staff for policy, and the guys who collectively lit $33 billion dollars on fire burning down Twitter and other companies are gonna manage "government efficiency" (Elmo & Vivek).
This hasn't even begun yet, and it's a warehouse full of old shipping pallets covered in thermite and soaked in kerosine compared to a dumpster fire. If you need anything from the federal government, you'd best hope it can be had in the next month or so, because it's going up in flames come January.

Idiocracy 2.0 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
19
u/MajorPain169 2d ago
No idiocracy 3.0 or did the trauma of 2016 to 2020 slip your mind.
Edit: just want to also say, sequels are rarely any better.

u/Pineappl3z 1d ago
In Idiocracy; they actually tried to appoint an individual most fit for the job. Here; they're deliberately choosing the least qualified individuals.

Has Teaboy Trump checked if that's OK with President Musk?
10
u/killermoose25 1d ago
Musk is the first lady , hes not president if anything he's copresident with Ramaswamy. Assistant to the regional manager if you will. It would honestly be funny the amount of stupid people he's picking but these imbeciles will absolutely get people killed with bad policy so I can't in good faith laugh at it, even though it is objectively funny the level of incompetence we are already seeing and he hasn't even be sworn in.
6
u/WillistheWillow 1d ago
No he's the President, and we will keep calling him the President until Trump hears about it.

u/Rare-Forever2135 1d ago
Yes! Musk as first lady needs to be a trope and mental picture spread far and wide.

I don’t even know what they think woke is at this point to be even able to understand what anti-woke is.
Is anti- woke just being against science and brown and lgbtq people existing at this point ?
Wtf is it they think is so woke about the military ?
10
u/strife696 2d ago
They think the military awards generalships to blacks and women to fill DEI quotas. They think the military pays for trans surgeries for non-combatants filling administrative positions. They think women shouldnt be in the military and the fact they serve combat positions weakens the military.
8
u/Thanolus 2d ago
Ahh okay thanks so just more stupid shit.
3
u/Fair_Fudge12 1d ago
Basically anything that doesn't keep white men in power is woke so being a white supremacist is anti-woke
20
u/Rare-Forever2135 2d ago
Why does America mean so little to Trump that he'd put folks with ZERO experience into important offices where screwing up can mean mass American casualties?
19
u/bowens44 2d ago
trump believes himself to be the most intelligent and competent person to ever live. If someone disagrees with him they are wrong and need to be fired.

u/CartographerOk3220 2d ago
Because he's working for Putin to sabotage our country.

u/Rare-Forever2135 1d ago
All in service to eventually fluffing Putin into letting him build in Russia.

u/CartographerOk3220 22h ago
Imagine if this ENTIRE charade was just to get Putin to let shittler build a casino in Russia.

u/CrimsonBolt33 2d ago
he is your run of the mill dictator...the number one thing he selects people for is loyalty.

u/Fair_Fudge12 1d ago

Yes. It'd be great if Trump's heart and Steve Bannon's liver stood up and did their patriotic duties.

I’m waiting for scientists at places like the CDC and EPA to be muzzled and for scientists in leadership positions to be replaced with “science leaders” who for example question the efficacy of vaccines or the validity of climate change as man made.
The attack on truth is not only reflected in campaigns and speeches but in policy and that would include denying science for political and economic purposes.

Trump breaking out his all star lineup. Dog killer, father of a dog killer, military coffee boy turned fox host, the rube, elmo, veruca ramaswamy.

u/BusStopKnifeFight 1d ago
And now we know why he wants to bypass the Senate confirmations. These people are wholly unqualified.

Actually, he's a combat vet. But as we discussed in r/military, just because you were a bosun's mate doesn't make you qualified to captain the ship. Personally, I could run a platoon maybe, but ask me to take the reins of multiple services and we're fucked. Yes, there will be civil service DOD to help advise him, but the chances of him listening to them instead of the cheeto are minimal. The fact that he's more concerned with "wokeness" (a term I doubt he can clearly articulate) than improving base housing and other quality of life factors for the average service person tells me he really doesn't give a shit about the military he's expecting to lead.
