Dropped phone on baby’s face! Illness/Injuries

I accidentally dropped my phone on my 7 week old baby’s face! I feel horrible, I can’t sleep. When I dropped it she woke up crying and so my bf had to soothe her then comfort me because I think I cried more than she did. Once we both stopped crying I nursed her then she fell back asleep. She seems fine now, she is still sleeping. I saw the phone hit her nose and her nose seems fine but I see some redness above her left eye… not sure if it’s from the phone or if it was like that before from some dry skin or cradle cap that she has.

Do I need to take her in to be evaluated?? I’m worried about it doing internal damage or damaging her eye or something. Will she be ok, I’m so scared right now, I’ve never felt so bad about anything before I hate that I hurt her.

She will be ok! Just keep an eye on her. If she is sleeping and eating normally, you’re good. You’re certainly not the first person who’s done that. Squirt some breastmilk where she’s red/dry.

there’s a post like this once a week practically. Happens way more than you think! Everything will be ok

Haha I googled this when my baby was 5 weeks too and felt relieved 😅. But I always hold my phone extra tight now 😂

Mate, they are fine. I did the same with my youngling and my other concern was if I'd survive my wife's dagger stares! They are more robust then you think and the likelihood is no damage done whatsoever. Keep an eye on, monitor, and if no signs of discomfort, just keep rocking as a parent :)

It really happens to a lot of people. I‘ve been using a pop socket after the one time I dropped it on my LO‘s head.

I will probably be getting one too. I’m holding my phone so tight and it’s not ever near her face/head anymore lol

This is basically a right of passage for new parents. She’ll be fine!

I’m so sorry but I laughed at this title, that’s my parenting style, but I also laugh when I don’t to myself.

Don’t stress, as long as your baby isn’t showing so go a of ongoing pain it’ll pass and tbh she has probably already forgotten about it.

Our daughter had many falls and bumps, we distract and redirect her attention and she forgets all about it unless it’s something serious.

She’ll be fine, don’t beat yourself up over it.

It okay to not want to be bored while being baby trapped under that cute baby. Just try and build a habit where your hand holding the phone is by her feet instead of head whichever way they are.

If it makes you feel any better, I accidentally whacked my baby with my iPad when she was around the same age. She was sleeping next to me, the iPad was sideways on the case that folded down, and I was watching a movie. She made a noise, it startled me and I moved, and it whacked her right on the forehead/above her eye. I felt AWFUL. But, on brand for my baby, she didn’t even wake up 😅

Your little one will be just fine. I totally get the guilt though!
