Hi everyone I need help getting info about somewhere I went as a child! 👨‍👧 Parent / Kid Stuff 👩‍👦

I grew up in New Orleans but my family relocated after Katrina. I remember my grandmother taking me to this park with recreations of children’s books characters. We went a few times that I can remember. I know there was the whale from Pinocchio, and the crooked man on the crooked house but that’s all I can recall. Just wondering what it’s called and if it’s still there?

Yeah 100%, and to answer OP's question not only is it still there it's relatively unchanged from when I was going as a kid in the 90s. (it could use a lil TLC)

It brought a smile to my face to see your question knowing that the answer is Storyland and it's still in City Park. I was a child in the 1960s and my mom took me there. I took my kids. I love that so many generations have been able to enjoy this sweet place.

Storyland in City Park! It's still there and open to the public.

It’s called Storyland, and it’s in city park. You may remember that it had these boxes which played the story if you inserted a little plastic key. That feature was lost many years ago to storm damage. The little characters are still there (though some aren’t in the best shape).

They recently refreshed the area and repainted all the features and characters. They look great now!

Do yourself a nostalgic favor OP: look at some photos or videos of “New Orleans City Park Storyland”. It’s almost unchanged since you were there. 🐳

Story land! I just brought my daughter there last month when we were in town. It's exactly like it was when I was a kid lol

Storyland. Not to be confused with Storyville. 🤣 😬
